Should I add a halo to my cushion cut?

Hi all! I've been married for about 9 months now, but my ring and I have totally passed the honeymoon phase. I want to spice it up and make it look bigger and more dramatic! I veered away from a halo initially because my mom didnt really like that style, but IIII do! Now I'm totally regretting my decision and I feel as though my ring is pretty boring :/

Is it possible to add a halo? Or will it look weird with my current setting? Any other suggestions?

I'd check with your jeweler. Do you have funds to get a new setting? If so, what's your budget?

No, I think it looks perfect.

I would keep it as it is. It is a beautiful setting that doesn't need anything more. :-)

OMG - NO! So classy looking as is!!! How about a really thin, engraved, rose gold band between the 2 rings?
Of course, if that's what YOU want to do, then go for it............................

I'd give it more time. It will be beautiful either way but 9 months seems such a short time to have grown bored of your stone. Although if you've got the cash to do it well then I guess no one's opinion really matters but your own.

agree.

I think your ring is beautiful as it is, but I do love a cushion in a halo! I wouldn't try to add one to your existing setting though -- I'd just start with a new setting if you decide to change it. :))

Thank you all for the comments! I guess I'll keep my ring status quo for the moment. I appreciate all the sweet compliments! Xo

I guess I'm in the minority here, but I think if you would like a halo you should get one! My opinion is based on the fact that you intially wanted one and were talked out of it and are now regretting it. I think people should get what they love. I can think of two times when a halo was added to an existing ring - the one Taylorbug mentioned and this:

I think whether it can be done to an existing setting is a case by case thing.

I certainly agree that your set is gorgeous, but I think how you feel is most important.

I think your setting is very very lovely! My initial thoughts were that adding a halo might make the look of your ring look a bit busy... but that is very personal. Besides, you have a beautiful wedding band to match already! I think adding a halo of probably a possibility and contacting Pete at Quest to ask what he thinks could help with your decision!I I was very pleased with his services!

Go with what your gut tells you. I've been told to just stick with solitaires, but I love halos. I ended up with a double halo! I'm super happy that I got what I wanted and not what other people wanted. If you got tired of it only after 9 months that's a sign. You are the one ultimately rocking the ring. PRO HALO here
