Hey experts! Is this diamond worth the price, and is it a good/great one? My specifications were: best cut possible, carat between 2.6-2.9, I color or better, and inclusions not too bad. They said this one is totally eye-clean...

2.57carat - $28.22K Is the cost worth these specs?

Certainly looks like a winner to me! :)

Omg. Really? That would be the first diamond ive posted here that you guys really like, haha. ive been reading up a TON on proportions!

is the cost fair for the specs?

Yep I think it's got fantastic proportions! A stone like that is as well as a stone can be cut; it doesn't really get any better. I don't know enough about costs to comment on the price.

THis one costs a bit less and is very similar in all aspects. If you wanna save a bit, it might be worth checking out. Only difference is one more color shade - I doubt it's anything one would ever notice

Thank you very much! Only thing i notice with that video is that it seems alot more included from first glance. Would you agree?
Great price though

Great price though

Only in that incredibly magnified view under extreme lighting conditions. In real life you'll never see that much detail or that intense of lighting conditions unless you're looking at it through a microscope

It’s stunning!

You get what you pay for with whiteflash. You might find the same specs for a fraction less elsewhere, but you are paying premium for their incredible cuts. It will look wonderful!!

I had this diamond in hands (WF sent it to me accidentally, instead of my original one 2.57 I VS1.) To me, it was not eye-clean at all.

Was it this exact one, with this cert? They said that this one in particular is eye-clean all the way up to holding it up against your eyes. Whereas for some of the other eye clean diamonds they were only eye clean up to 10 inches. Which part of it was more noticeable?

also, did having it in a VS1"version" drive up the price? this one is 28K

It was the same exact one. I saw feathers and needles.

Oh, thats super good to know. I wonder why they label it as eye-clean. For the price, do you think its good for the specs (SI1)? Im wondering if i should get it or just keep waiting

Great to hear! Besides the cut/proportions, is it worth the $?

ACA diamonds are worth the money, but I would trust @daisygrl’s experience. That said, I don’t see issues with the clarity other than some surface graining in the brilliance video.

Beautiful stone...you might want to ask WF for an assessment of the clarity and at what distance you can see anything
(if you haven't asked yet). It would be clean to me (but I have older eyes) and I'm not that sensitive to minor clarity issues
especially in Super Ideal stones. (I own 2 SI1 super ideals...not as big as this though).

Others prefer to stay at VS2+ for engagement rings. Its all personal preference and usually budget-driven. SI1s tend to fit better in
my budget! I'm willing to drop down to SI1s to be able to own Super Ideal stones. YMMV

Some people are more eye clean sensitive than others. For me I think it would be fine.

Thanks both! @Tourmaline i didnt notice the surface graining at all (lol) - is the graining bad, or slight?
They said its fullly eye clean, but I got this email from them this morning. I do appreciate the honesty:

"Also, I have inspected the 2.572ct I SI1 A CUT ABOVE diamond in person, and confirm it is eye clean in normal viewing conditions from as close as one can focus. However, when introducing a bright spot light, there was a tiny linear cloud on the crown facet that was visible from 5-6 inches.
This is a very nice SI1, but if you are ultimately looking for a 100% eye clean diamond I would suggest we review a higher clarity grade."

The SI1 and veryyyy closely noticeable inclusions dont really bother me, but what WOULD bother me is if I am being overcharged for a diamond that is this included.

Thank you! they said it was fully eye clean, but followed up this morning after inspecting it carefully in person:

I'm looking at SI1s for budget reasons as well, I just cant believe how much diamond prices have risen in the past few months alone. 28K for an SI1 at this size feels steep.

It was slight.

I looked for AGS stones at JA to check on cost....this is what I found for an AGS graded stone H&A, smaller but VS1
(personally, I don't like it).

There were some GIA stones but nothing that was all that great $26.4k to $34.5k for a 2.7 I/Vs2 (advanced options set to be in range of
Super Ideals).

I hope that helps with your cost question.

Thank you! thats helpful. i assume james allen true hearts isnt as good as A Cut Above then? i checked the stats on that first true hearts link you sent and the proportions are slightly out of the pricescope ideal ranges...wow

No, they are not. They are AGS000 (Ideal light return) and H&A but they do not fall in the strict standards of true Super Ideals like ACAs. Plus, WF provides all the images you need to know that your stone is a good (great) performer (ASET, Ideal Scope, H&As).

The other benefit to WF is your upgrade only has to cost more than the one you already own. Say you want to go slightly larger someday or maybe go up a grade in color its relatively easy. At JA you have to spend 2X your stone cost so you are pretty locked in unless you hit the lottery.

awesome point! not sure how to read lightscopes, but is it a great aset/ideal scope that i posted?

Yes, I looked at the "real" ones on the site. They are both good (they always are with ACAs). This stone would not have made
the ACA line if they were not good.

Sounds great, thanks. I think i was scared off by AGS0 slightly when I posted a different diamond previously and saw that maybe the diamond didnt deserve that AGS0 rating.

Sounds like the ACA line is much better than that though in terms of consistency and deserving the "title"
