Hi All,
I had previously purchased a diamond but now have second thoughts about it's quality. Here is a link to my last thread: https://www.pricescope.com/community/threads/your-opinion-on-this-princess-cut-diamond.36459/. And here are the numbers for the old and new diamond.
Old diamond:
Shape: Princess
Carat weight: 1.76
Cut: Ideal
Color: E
Clarity: VS2
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 73.9%
Table: 72%
Polish: Excellent - Ideal
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Thin to slightly thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: None
Measurements: 6.50*6.48*4.79
Ratio: 1.00
Crown height - 13.6%
Pavilion angle - 39.3 degrees
Pavilion depth - 57.8%
Girdle - 2.8%
New diamond:
Shape: Princess
Carat weight: 2.03
Cut: Ideal
Color: D
Clarity: VS2
Certificate: GIA
Depth: 74%
Table: 66%
Polish: Very Good
Symmetry: Very Good
Girdle: Thin to thick
Culet: None
Fluorescence: Strong
Measurements: 6.90*6.89*5.10
Ratio: 1.00
Crown height - 8.6% 0.56mm
Pavilion depth - 61.8% 4.25mm
The reason I am deciding on upgrading the old diamond is because of the high amount of leakage in the center and around the table. My concerns with the new diamond are that the crown height is low. The fact that it has strong fluorescence doesn't bother me and I have seen the diamond in person so I know that it doesn't appear milky or oily under UV light. When I looked at the diamond under the idealscope it appeared very red throughout and only had leakage along the corners. I bought the old diamond for $13,500.00 while the new diamond costs around $16,000.00. Please help me decide!
