Show me split shank halo's with emerald cuts

Just recently started my hunt for a ring. I still want the surprise, but my boyfriend does want somewhat of an idea of what I like so we have been visiting jewelers. While I absolutely love princess cut solitaires, I want something different than the rest. I tend to love emerald cuts and recently took a liking to the halo settings with the split shanks. Not sure if I would want a wedding band though as I am really concerned for comfort and the way the ring would look if adding a band. I do not wear a lot of jewelry, so I do want my ring to be my dream ring...with a big juicy diamond

One concern of mine is that I have size 9 fingers (long thicker fingers...downside of being 5'11) and I am curious to see this style on bigger fingers. I have also seen many halo split shanks with cushion cuts as opposed to emeralds and they too are beautiful..

are the cushions more common in these settings?

Are halo setting typically set high to where I am knocking it all the time?

Wedding band, no wedding band?

Will my larger fingers/hand look more flattering with another style?

If you have pictures and carat size to get an idea, that would be great!
