Hey everyone,
I''m thinking about starting a new project, but what I really would like a 2.5 carat vivid blue emerald cut or oblong cushion...but sadly this cannot be found in a small budget of 1k. I''m considering using a sim instead (which we cannot talk about here), but a natural sapphire would be better. Anyways, if anyone can convince me otherwise and find a gorgeous natural sapphire that is still somewhat large for my budget with a lovely color I would definitely consider buying it.

By the way, the project is a harry-winston style three stone ring with side baguettes and split claw prongs. Yummy

. I''m not a big fan of the blue color in aquamarines or zircons...so this isn''t really an option.

This one looks pretty to my untrained eye: Link

oooh, good find! The color looks very nice and so does the size. Not sure I love the cut though, some symmetry issues...but maybe a good candidate for a homer re-cut.

Is a "gently" heated sapphire fine? You'd get a much bigger blue sapphire if you are open to heat treatment and can get some really fabulous electric or royal blues.

As an example:

Bigger and pricier

Very nice cut and colour but unheated costs $$$ (but still under $1K):

I do too, I just wish it was a little bigger!! Those are pretty good finds though. Not quite what I''m looking for, but the best I''ve seen yet.
