What beautiful rings! Congrats to you both!

Your rings are gorgeous! I love that they match, that''s so special.

I, too, hope you''ll be able to have a "legal" marriage very soon. It''s going to be a long battle, but it will happen within our lifetimes, I just know it.

Gorgeous rings and a gorgeous couple!!! Congrats to you both!

We''re pulling for you here in California. It will be soon! Best of luck!

Congratulations to you both!

Wow I love the colors of your garnets; what beauties you have. Congrats to you both, your rings are gorgeous!

ETA: Are either one of the garnets by any chance Umbalites? I have a supernova oval that looks very similar to the lighter one...

Gorgeous rings, and congrats on your engagement! You are a beautiful couple, with rings to match! :)

Congratulations!
Beautiful rings, beautiful couple!
I LOVE that you are both left handed! Quite unique!
My best to you both!!!

kcoursolle- Thank you *blushing*. You have such great taste in jewelery, and your compliments mean a lot!

Elmorton- Thank you so much! Each color/stone/ring is so unique I feel like they have their own little personalities. I could write a novel about them, I really could.

GemView- Thanks! That beauty in your icon is to DIE FOR! Speaking of classy...

Selkie- You are so sweet, thank you! Every little bit of support helps, it really does. I am a current resident of MA and a future resident of CA, so we have that in common. :) Garnets are so beautiful, and it''s so neat to learn more about them. Before I started to look and research more I thought they were all dark red and kind of dull and lifeless.

Turns out there''s quite the variety!

ZoeBartlett- Thank you, Zoe!

Miranda- Thank you so much. Garnets are becoming one of my favourite stones. Before you know it I''ll have a colored stone addiction itching to be satisfied.

darling- Thank you for your well-wishes!

julesbeth- Thank you for the kind words!

Haven- Thank you. All of these sweet comments are bringing literal tears to my eyes. It sounds so sappy, but it means so, so incredibly much to know that people out there support us.

Jelly- Thanks so much! We are hoping for the best. :)

laurel25- Aw, thank you! We hope so too, and appreciate your support and nice words.

Venice- Thanks! Taking the pictures was fun- we moved our hands every which way trying to get the perfect shot, and that one turned out pretty well!

Diamond*Dana- Thank you for the compliments!

Love in Bloom- Thanks so much! I am pretty sure both of the garnets are Rhodolite. Do you have any pictures of your supernova oval? I would love to see some. I think I have a colored gem addiction!

vespergirl- Thank you! Your ring has always been one of my favourites, and it''s great to know you think ours are great as well. :)

2danes- Thank you for the compliments! Are those your doggies in your icon? They''re darling!!

wrstacks- Well.... if you insist! I love to talk about my honey, so I will give a little bit of background.

We met at college in MA. We had mutual friends for years but never saw much of each other until this one day when we began talking about a specific legal issue that we are both passionate about. I was so amazed that she was as interested in politics and law as I am, which is very rare to find. We had a blast talking, and decided to hang out again sometime in the future. We finally made plans to meet up and watch a movie, but neither of us was sure if the other thought it was a date or just a friendly meeting. We both hoped it was a date!
9.gif
Turns out it was definitely a date. We met at a public place thinking we would go from there to watch a movie, but ended up talking for so long that it closed and kicked us out! Instead, we walked around outside for awhile until I invited her back to my place to finally watch that movie. We never did get to it. We were just so content and happy talking and laughing and learning about each other. We''ve been inseparable ever since then, and have essentially lived together from very early on, though both of us have had our own places as well. That''s just a little slice of our story and not told especially well, but hopefully it didn''t bore you too much.

I had a really long post, but I was the choosen deadlock victim.

So in a nutshell, hip hip hooray, congratulations and well wishes for the future.....

Beautiful stones! Gary has a wonderful selection. Best Wishes to you both!!

CONGRATULATIONS! I love how the rings are the same but different, and red is my favorite color so I was definitely drooling at these!

If CA doesn''t work out, you can always come join me here in MA for a New England wedding

!

ARRRRGGGH!!! I just realized that MA doesn''t marry out-of-state couples.

Best of luck with CA and have fun with the wedding, even if the legal stuff doesn''t work out!

Love the new photos....

I''m usually just a lurker too, but I really wanted to express my heartfelt wish that the CA ruling stands and you are able to be legally married. Congratulations!

Oh yeah, and fabulous rings!

I posted pics of some supernova ovals here: Tanzanian Rocks . Umbalites are rhodolite garnets too, but they're given a more specific name for being mined by the Umba river in Tanzania. I was just wondering because your stone has a distinct glow that I recognize and happen to adore. So pretty WishfulThinking

YAY! Beautiful, absolutely stunning rings, and congratulations to both of you on your engagement! Lovely, unique and special...the way an engagement should be.

Beautiful rings. Congrats to both of you!!!

Beautiful rings!! The colours are amazing!

Also, (I'm Canadian), I went to my first same sex marriage last year (BTW they are both lawyers - I'm not sure if that's what you guys are but I thought since you were both into politics/law...?) What a blast! They both wore the traditional white gowns, are you guys thinking of doing that? Though I have a feeling THEY won't match exactly! lol. And each had their parents escort them to the altar at the same time, it was a rather large crowd going to the altar. :) It was held at a United Utilitarian Church, the (female) minister was awesome!...I really hope they turn things around soon where you are, but, we'd love to have you guys come up here to make it official! There's lots of places to honeymoon as well...

Pretty rings! I didn''t know garnets could shine that much.

Congratulations.

Thank you for sharing your story! I love your rings...they are gorgeous.

Best of luck to you both. You sound so happy and in love.

I love them. The colors are just fantastic!

You two look so happy...congratulations!!

Gorgeous!! Love ''em!!! Congrats!!!

Hey! You said you are a future resident of CA? I just saw in our local paper that CA granted marriage rights on Monday!!!

Congrats to you both!!!!

your rings are beautiful...i love color more and more

Beautiful rings (in stereo!)...it must be awesome to have twice the bling to stare at. I wish my fiance would consider putting a diamond in his wedding band for that reason, but he won''t oblige. It''s hard enough just trying to convince him to wear a wedding band! Also, not to get all political and stuff, but I want to show my support for equal marriage. California finally got it right!

I was just recently talking to a jeweler about how fascinating garnets are because they come in so many beautiful colors...red, green, orange, pink, etc! I like that you have slightly different colors.
