I'm looking for wedding band ideas to go with my transitional cut solitaire. It has a crown type head, so nothing will sit flush with it. I'm considering getting an open band as a spacer but I also don't mind a gap.

My e ring is 1.33ct , 1.8mm band with a wheat pattern.

I’m no help, but wanted to say your ring is gorgeous!

Is the setting original to the diamond? The engraving looks beautiful.

I'm not certain. I wouldn't be surprised if it's not original. It's 14k wg with a transitional stone. I only know it's been with the family I bought it from since the 70s. It was bought as a gifts for his wife after this man retired... it was then passed onto his daughter, she didn't have sentimental attachment to it so she got her son to sell it. That's where I bought it.

We're now at a point where we're trying to plan a quick little intimate wedding for this summer and I'm trying to pick a wedding band. I'd like a vintage or antique wedding band, with an old inscription inside and maybe some engraved details to pair with it but I'm a size 8.75-9 ... so those are hard to come by. I might be better off finding a different band for my actual wedding band and stack others (like the antique one I'm searching for) later on.

I also want to source stones - or have custom made- an 8 stones (8 kids) OEC band to go with it but isn't going to happen within this wedding timeline and tiny budget.... so it'll be an anniversary gift We'll start working on right away but still leaves a need for the right wedding band.

I want to love it enough that I won't take it off/change out. I might stack others with it but it stays on my finger.

Any ideas?!!!

Eight kids?! You must have your hands full!

I think the 14k setting might very well be original to a transitional stone, as it was widely used in the US around that time.

Have a look for an antique 22ct gold wedding ring to pair with it. A narrow band, so that you can add anniversary rings etc down the line. It’s a classic antique look & you should be able to get one online (eBay or Etsy) in your size, or near enough that can be altered.

You deserve all the diamonds for raising 8 kids!

Your ring is beautiful. :)

Agree with @Ibrakeforpossums check out Ivy & Rose. Here is a ring made out of a loose diamond and pre-made setting that they had in stock. The engraving reminds me of yours. The order only took a week and it was fairly priced.

Thanks! It's been fun! The youngest is a freshy, she's only 4 weeks old!

I love that idea! I was thinking about a thin rose gold band but I hadn't ever considered 22kt! That might be more my style!

Are you aware of this thread? The ladies there are always on the lookout for antique/vintage bands.

Beautiful ring! Mine is Edwardian vs Art Deco but similar in style. I bought the Edwardian band from Ivy & Rose.
