Show me your daily wear earrings!

Damnit Stargurl, you just made me add jackets back to my bling list. Those are beautiful, especially with the pearls.

Fiona, I have some diamond mini huggies for my tragus too, I'll have to put it in and take a picture. Yours are lovely.

Rosebloom, you look like you should be on the cover of a Victorian romance novel. You are beautiful! Especially with all your diamonds, lucky lady.

I usually wear plain studs. I'm loving everyone's beautiful earrings!

Janesmith, I would love to see your tragus earrings! I saw a yummy pair on venus by maria tash but price was a bit much for me!

Oh, JaneSmith, how kind of you to say! Before taking that picture I had been chasing my son all over the park on a very hot day. So not my best look but you're right I am super lucky to have so many diamonds! They make anyone look good!

My 0.88 ctw BGD 8-prong studs definitely get the most wear:

I also have a pair of pearl studs that I wear occasionally. And I'll add my jackets to either of them every so often:

I love all of them, just my style! Very classic.

Diamonds haven't made their way to my ears yet, I'm still on freshwater pearls, sterling silver hoops and CZ studs...

Orchid Lei - It sounds like we have the same taste! I wore 5mm CZ studs until I saved up enough for a pair of diamonds. I have a lot of silver dangly earrings but I find that I always wear the same few classic pieces.

JaneSmith - I love the jackets and I highly recommend them! Glad to be an enabler :Up_to_something:

Stargurl, Love your jackets !! Do you have any side pics?

I just got these for my birthday a month and a half ago, and have been wearing them a lot.photo_105.jpgimage_9.jpg

Sorry for the ugly ear-shot.

Thank you bebe! I don't have a side view of them on the ear but here is a BGD glamor shot where you can see what the side looks like. Hope that helps!

Yenny, those cabochons are gorgeous! I think I've decided on my next jewelry purchase! That and a set of diamond jackets from IDJ.

Stargurl, do you have the mm for your pearls? I just emailed IDJ about the jackets as I've got some tahitian pearls that I don't know what to do with. They're a little plain as studs but with the jackets......WOW!

Nonie, would you be sharing the finished pics of the DK setting? I'm lost on the "not to be mentioned" cushions but would like to see DK's rendition. I spoke to Leon last year about getting the same setting for my 8mm rounds but he said that they probably wouldn't look as nice as a cushion would. The quote last year (Dec 2011) was $2200 and the diamonds are still sitting in my safe waiting for a new outfit.

The cushions are Winkczs so they are not allowed on this forum. I wish I could spring for real ACC's but can't rationalize the expense. I just bought a tennis bracelet. If I receive a pic of the setting from David Klass I will post it so you can see them before the unmentionables are set. He quoted $650 for 14k and $800 for 18k. I didn't ask about plat. If you like his work that may be an option for you.

They are about 5.5 mm. I have a pair that are closer to 5 mm that look ok in the jackets too. If you tell IDJ the mm of yours, they will tell you which jackets will work best. And these are the 3-pointer jackets (they have ones with smaller or larger diamonds as well). Post pics once you get them! :naughty:

For me it's mostly my graduated bezeled ideals (.74 to .25 to .12 in each each, set, respectively, in white, yellow, and rose gold, the first set by IDJ, the other two by BGD). Alternately, I wear my Venus by Maria Tash star studs with dangles, or the dangling bezeled crystals I made myself. Variety is the spice of life! No pics of the star w/dangles in my files ... can snap a few if anybody wants.

The interesting thing is that I used to wear a LOT of different earrings. I was the woman earring trees were invented for. But since getting my "nice" earrings? Somehow, the funky silver safety pins and the clattering beetle-wings have a lot less appeal ....

LOL... well I am not sure I like having so much $$ on my ears ;)) They sure do look amazeballs, but its not me at this point in my life!

I am liking some of these ideas with clusters, and I also like the drop styles

Right now I wear simple 1cm white gold hoops 24/7 and have for years! I need a change. But I think they need to tbe the type of earrings I don't ever have to take off :read:

This is such a great thread. I am looking for the same kind of earrings! It would be so nice not having to think about what earrings to wear every morning..

Rosebloom I love the earrings you found at OWD! Here's my lousy pic of my new BGD studs. How do you get such fabulous photos of your ears? Here are the specs on my earrings: .30 each J VS2. So bright & sparkly! Set in 3 prong martinis. Next earring purchase for me will be blingy hoops like catmom    I also want jackets :naughty:

Hi Fiona, sorry I took so long to get these shots. Here are my tiny huggies for my tragus. The stud in the lobe is 80 points.

I am having DK make a pair of LM's Rachel Rosebud wire earrings. I have received the first set of CAD's. They will have 7mm cartier cushions (the type not to be mentioned here). So I am sharing the setting only. They will be pretty much everyday earrings and the setting is custom 14k wg. I might spring for 18k, it wasn't that much more. LM wanted 3k just for the setting!

I received my earrings today. I won't post the finished photo but will add the photo of the settings before polishing. David did a wonderful job on the settings. They have the most delicate claw prongs and are substantial. Sometimes settings for earrings look very wirery (is that a word?) and cheap. These are not like that, they look very high end. These will be my go to earrings.

Thanks jerichosmom! I'd love some friends in the cabachon club! :wavey:

Janesmith: Yay! Thanks for sharing your tragus bling! I love those! Do you mind sharing where you found them? I think if I wanted something like that I would have to go custom since I am petit so my ears are small too and my tragus earring are itty bitty... I wonder what a custom pair would cost...hmm..I am thinking shared prong in rose gold but teeny tiny! LOL!!

Fiona, I bought them years ago from a local jeweller, and not one I would have thought would carry jewelry for body piercings. They were not custom made for me. (They did, however, custom make a gold and diamond belly jewel which I have sadly misplaced. Boo hoo!)
They have 12 or 14 gauge posts so the hole doesn't get too small. I have no idea of the carat weight but they are stamped 18kt for the gold. They cost around $200 or $300. Sorry, bad PSer, terrible info.

You could call around and see if anyone in your area does body piercing jewelry with gold and diamonds. Failing that, go find a nice pair in stainless that are small enough for you and take them to a jeweler who can custom make you a pair to the exact dimensions of the steel pair, but with gold and diamonds. Pictures would not suffice because they would have to see how thick the post part is, plus how small the diameter is on a pair of huggies for the tragus.
I would also not do shared prong for two reasons. One, even the best prong work can feel a bit pokey, but if you don't sleep with them in, you should be OK. Two, if a diamond came loose and went in your ear canal, getting it out could prove challenging and it may scratch your canal or drum. But I may be a bit paranoid about my ears. :))
Good luck!

On the subject of tragus piercings, I have had mine fail before. Are studs a no-no to keeping them from rejecting? Do I need thicker posts?

I am wearing earrings for the first time in years since FI gave me a pair of DBL baby bezel studs for Christmas. they're .38 tcw, M color, VS2, set in YG. I love them! They're super comfortable--which is important to me since I'm not used to wearing earrings. I feel lucky to have little earlobes--this size is substantial enough for my taste... That doesn't mean I would turn my nose up at larger studs down the road, tho! :cheeky:

Here an earshot from a little distance--I got a massage and a cupping treatment last week, and I think the masseuse got a bit aggressive with the cupping! I was trying to get a photo of the bruising from the cupping, but happened to get my ear in the shot ;)

Thanks for the info Janesmith... you are right, shared prong maybe pokey...I would uncomfortable with that while sleeping...I can't even sleep with studs on cuz of the needle poking in my neck!

Reader, I always wanted to try studs on my tragus, but always got kind of infected wearing them... then they healed with hoops. I think it is just easier to clean the piercing with a hoop!
