So the DD is turning the big 30 in May and she would like a diamond cross pendant/necklace but she doesn't know what she wants or likes yet, can you lovely ladies show me yours for some inspiration please? Thanks

What about this? It's $896 minus an extra $89.60.

I like this design, it's similar to mine, however the diamonds are I1 clarity. Blue Nile has a cross which is same carat weight but better quality with Si2 diamonds and 18k gold but has a more square, boxy setting:

I've seen this one in real life as I ordered it first, before finding one I liked better locally. It is blindingly sparkly; I think she would love it. On this website we are all jewellery freaks and picky about small details, so I preferred the flatter setting I got locally which is rounded at the ends. However, I can vouch for this cross - it's super, super sparkly, quite small and delicate, appropriate for everyday while chucking out lots of bling. It's $1,090 but you can usually find a 10 per cent off promo code for Blue Nile online. Note that the chain is 18 inches which is quite long, and that BN will size it to 16 or 17 inches for free, although this does make it non-returnable.

I have the Tiffany platinum cross and to me it is the absolute best cross. It's so sparkly and the melee is so nice. Half a carat G VS.

OP, if you give us an idea of your budget we can advise you appropriately. Tiffany is, as ever, stunning but it really depends on your budget. If money is a driving factor then know that you can get beautiful sparkles for much less at well-respected vendors. If you want to push the boat out, then a Tiffany cross is a wonderful marker of a significant birthday. It's difficult to know what to tell you without having an idea of your spending comfort level.

Lovely crosses, everyone!

Edit: OP, if you were to go to Tiffany, this cross is bezel-set which seems to be unique to Tiffany. I haven't seen anything like this elsewhere, which is good as crosses are rather a generic design. Yes, it's expensive but seeing as I have just bought, a few months ago, an insanely overpriced E colour bezel plat necklace from Tiff, I'm not really one to talk.

I also have the Tiffany .5 ct diamond cross, and I have the Roberto Coin tiny treasures cross. I really wear that one almost all the time!

RC also makes several other small diamond crosses that are nice:

Hey DS, do you have the smallest RC tiny cross? Like .11ctw? I just searched thru the crosses thread for neckshots of that one on ANYONE and I can't find any. Any chance you posted some somewhere so I can check it out?!

I think 1k is a very sensible price for a half-carat cross. The Tiffany one is now $2700 plus tax. Mine was about $600 and looks very similar to the Tiff, down to the number of prongs round the centre diamond, its dimensions, the number, weight and colour of the diamonds and the prongs on the end giving it a rounded look. The back is a little different, and I think my setting sits flatter against the skin. I don't see how the diamonds could sparkle more, and I do own Tiffany diamonds so I know what they look like. Also the BN $1090 cross that I've seen in real life could hardly have been sparklier. Crosses are such a generic design and not particularly associated with Tiffany the way that DBTY is, so that's why I think 1k for a different brand is the sensible way to go. How exciting! Do let us know what you choose.

I hesitated in spending so much on a cross as I am not actually a daily cross wearer. I found mine on eBay while looking for a cross for my MIL and was blown away by the beautiful photos of the melee. The price was high but as I did more research it was actually an amazing price for the Tiffany cross - I have been watching and none of the auctions ended as cheap as mine (sorry bit of bragging). With that said, if you keep watching - I have seen several end around $1400 - $1600 for 0.5 cts.

I also bought this cross from estatejewelrybymichael on eBay. It looks better in real life than in the photos and I get a lot of compliments on it. I saw him list a number of them over the year and I suspect he may have more. I paid under $100 but it looks far more expensive.

Ladies your all terrific! Your being an extreme help, Missy is complicated she wants different but dosesn't know excactlly what. Charmypoo Thank you! the picture you posted she comented it's nice it's different(she wants different) we're maybe getting somewhere now lol.

Both your crosses are lovely, Charmypoo, and isn't it great when you score a great bargain? Agree that the inexpensive cross looks much more costly than it was.

Cluless - beware of that ebay seller. While the bezel cross that Charmypoo found looks completely authentic, the person is also selling another non-Tiffany item as a Tiffany for $1600, which hardly inspires confidence in the seller. They have a Tiffany Victoria pendant for sale, which unfortuately looks nothing like the real thing because its diamonds are bezeled while Tiffany's Victoria collection is prong-set. The Tiffany Victoria collection has been around for many decades and has never changed - and has never been bezel-set.

Here's the real thing: Hold your cursor over all the different necklaces to see the prong settings.

http://www.tiffany.com/Shopping/CategoryBrowse.aspx?cid=473573&mcat=148206#p+1-n+12-cg+viewPaged-c+473573-s+5-r+-t+-ri+-ni+1-x+-pu+-f+

Here's the fake with its bezels, posing as authentic from that ebay seller with the cross:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Auth-TIFFANY-CO-Diamond-Platinum-PT950-Victoria-Mini-Pendant-Necklace-/251252300216?_trksid=p2047675.m1850&_trkparms=aid%3D222002%26algo%3DSIC.FIT%26ao%3D1%26asc%3D11%26meid%3D6634304065437167235%26pid%3D100011%26prg%3D1005%26rk%3D4%26sd%3D171009437387%26

See the difference? The chain's thicker too. In addition, the ebay listing says "carat weight unknown" whereas the weight would definitely be known if it was a real Tiffany Victoria piece.

I'm really sorry! I was very excited when I saw the bezel cross and I don't mean to rain on anyone's parade, but when I saw the blatant Tiffany fake they were selling regarding the Victoria piece, I couldn't not warn you, OP.

The bezel cross looks completely authentic, but since the seller has no integrity and is happy to pass off fakes as real to the tune of $1600, it does beg the question of whether the cross in the photo is real but you would receive something different.

This is the cross we bought my daughter for her 18th birthday:

Yes, that is the one I have. I'll try to take a neck shot for you sometime today!

I also bought the Tiffany cross at a discount online (around $1700). There are sellers that buy returned items somehow, so some of them are really new. The Tiffany cross is just amazing quality. It is set in platinum.

This is a trustworthy source. They used to be on ebay until the fees went up so much and they had great feedback. My cross came in the Tiffany boxes. They have almost nothing listed right now, but email them, because when I got the cross, they told me they had a lot of items that they didn't have on the site.

Be still my beating heart...they have the Etoile ring in sapphire. I've got it in diamond - I'm so greedy! But I love sapphires...

Same here!

It's a size 7.5 - way too big for me. :(

Okay, here is the tiny Roberto Coin cross. It has a jump ring at 16" and is 18" long.

LOVE THIS!!! Perfect for everyday! Great idea for Cluless too! A Wonderful gift idea! Do they automatically come in 18" with a jump ring? I see it on Saks listed as 16".

The OP would need to check with the recipient about size, though - the Coin pendant, though lovely, is extremely tiny and she may well want something a little bigger than that for a 30th.

Nice pendant DS!

I do love it! I usually wear it 24/7 and I don't sleep in any other jewelry. They came with the 18" and jump ring at 16 when I got mine. I would be surprised if it is different because they make a lot of their necklaces with the jump ring.

Ladies again thank you very much for your help it's greatly appriciated. Smith thank you for the heads up on that site we can never be too careful. Catmom I love that cross it's just beautiful.
