Hey everybody, I don''t know if you all do this but I love to stare at pictures of my ring online and I know it''s been awhile since we''ve had one of these threads so I wanted to put up a new one for all the newbies that have joined in the past few months. So show me your hoped for rings! (and maybe those that you lust after)

For ages I thought I wanted a plain Tiffany-style 6-prong solitaire, and then I fell in love with the Mark Morrell Flame, which from the top looks like the Tiff 6-prong but the basket is just a KNOCKOUT (and I love ring profiles, so, hubba hubba, come to momma!
31.gif
). Recently I've come across Mark's Torchiere, which has the same head but the shank of the ring is rounded instead of knife edged, and I think I miiiight be leaning more towards the rounded one. The knife edge might make the stone pop a bit because it'd look thinner, but I have giant fingers, so a wider-looking band might work better for me. And the rounded thing might be a bit comfier.

Anyway! You didn't really want all that, you wanted a picture! So here's a shot of the MWM Torchiere:

Oh my gosh, I have yet to actually pick just one!

Here are just a few that I love. Mind you, no matter what the setting, I''ve already decided that I want a cushion cut. They''re just to die for!

Anyway, here are some pics of Erings and bands that I just absolutely adore. If anyone has any suggestions as to which I should lean towards, let me know! If not, I may very well have to end up getting all of them.... My poor, poor BF.

I LOVE this split shank!

This one''s gorgeous too, but I''m afraid of the whole eternity band thing, and not being able to re-size, so anything that I like that''s eternity style, I''ll probably have to get made custom so that it''s 3/4 eternity.

I''m DYING for this Beverly K. eternity ring, but like I said, I''ll probably have to get something similar custom made in a 3/4 eternity when the time comes.

I am the queen of staring at rings online! I hope no one gets offended by this reference, but I have often said to friends that QVC and Home Shopping Network are my ****. I can stare and drool for hours without buying anything....

There is a jeweler in NYC called DVVS (in SoHo) that has a ring similar to the one pasted below. The center stone is a .63 canary asscher. I''ve always said that I don''t want to see "my" ring on anyone else. When I was married, I had a hand-made (it was an artist''s sample that he never produced - mine was the only one ever made) platinum ring with a peachy champagne diamond center. DVVS has a great selection of very unique rings.

Leigh Jay Nacht is also one of my fave sites. This is another ring that I lust after that he has:
http://antiqueengagementrings.com/shopping/shopexd.asp?id=1753. He carries a lot of replicas but also some true vintage rings. I really love the vintage look and prefer that to most of what''s made today.

When I was in New Orleans, there was a vintage jewelery store across the street from where we had lunch one day. I walked in there and tried on a ring in the window. My BF asked me how much it was, and it was $10K. I quickly pointed out to him that vintage rings don''t need to cost anything near that. I also threw in the reference that I have been looking for a vintage ring for a while and just haven''t found the right one yet. I know, I know.....cagey way to drop a hint...but at least he knows what style I like and what I''m looking for.........

Squee-- I want that ring, too!! Or something cushion-y with a halo. I''m really not picky. :)

I love the Torchiere! My dream ring is that head with a shared prong band. I basically stare at the pictures of it and drool constantly. Mmmmmmm. I''m also a sucker for profiles, and I have never seen ANYONE do shared prong like Mark Morrell.

I''m thinking something like this but with an Asscher cut stone.

Hope I attached this right.....

Here''s my dream, soon to become reality (holy crap). The pic is from overstock, but you get the idea.

Here''s mine! Except the centre stone is a cushion brilliant. BF has it in his possession but I haven''t seen it.

Can''t wait to have it in my hot little hands.

I never thought that I cared what kind of ring I get. Then one day, I saw Mark Schneider''s Mystic. I realized then that I wanted some sort of floral design. Waaaay out of my price range though. This one is $2070 for a 14K gold.

Gwen - I''ve always thought that torchiere was yummy enough to eat...!

This is my beauty... however, to be honest I have been looking at it as little as possible. I went about 2 months actually!!! I''m pretty proud of myself

I love an Emerald cut, so C asked me to pick out a setting, and he chose the Emerald cut diamond... which I have yet to see! From what he tells me though, it''s absoluetly gorgeous. You girls are going to get me hooked again!!! AHHH!!

Has anyone seen this setting online? I saw one in person at Jared''s and we''re thinking we don''t want to buy from there so we''ve been looking for it online with no luck! That''s definitely my dream setting and one of the few (other than plain solitaires) that SO likes, too. I neeeed to find it online!

Here''s the one we ordered in December. The center is a 1.06ct F VS1 RB. The surprise diamond is going to be blue

. I can''t wait, and am very very very anxious! I''m sure most of you have read my posts this week

Ok if we could afford it I would have this Scott Kay in 14kt except with smaller plain prongs, and a 2mm domed shank, and long oval 3ct Sapphire about this color:

Natural Sapphire Company sapphire

with either electric blue sapphires or tsavorites as surprise stones.

Scott Kay band

But I'll probably end up with a plain solitaire ring with some kind of long oval 2-3ct funky (hopefully) colored sapphire. In the green-blue spectrum. Which is pretty much what I want, I just think that surprise stones are an awful lot of fun.

Wouldn't let me post the pics dang it.

I love this Kirk Kara style called Amelia. I am fairly certain this will be my ring :)

Here is my dream ring. I am a pear girl and can''t wait. We have been looking at stones. Hope it come soon

Squee, we have similar taste! I just got this one in a half eternity for my wedding band. It just came in yesterday, so I haven''t had time to take pics and post it yet. But I loooove it - it''s gorgeous. My ering is a plain platinum solitaire with a RB stone and they look great together!

Hi aliciagirl!
35.gif
I found it on a few different sites, although I don''t know anything about any of the specific vendors, so I can''t help you in figuring out whether they''re reputable or not. Here''s where I found it so far:

http://www.firenzejewels.com/diamonds/info/46-Simon%20G-79-2335-000-Simon-G-diamond-platinum-engagement-ring-mounting-and-wedding-band-set-000-.html
http://www.kranichs.com/products/Simon-G/ring-823
http://www.alaskajewelry.com/simon-wedding-ring-style-nr178-p-648.html

There are probably others, but these are the only ones I could find that sell that specific setting. Hope this helps!
