I'm trying to decide if I pick an inexpensive setting that I know I will want to replace within 6 months. Or do I invest a bit more or to get a better setting that I know I could enjoy and live with for a few years. While researching my dream setting that I know is probably not with James Allen?

This will be for an .80-.90 point RB stone.

Not sure if I want a solitaire or a halo. Would love to see your James Allen ring and hear what you like and don't like about it. If you have some suggestions I would love to hear them too.

Thanks PSers!

Bump!

Is there a JA thread already out there somewhere? Anyone? Anyone?

James Allen does have some inexpensive solitaire settings that might allow you to put more of your budget towards your stone, which is the route I would go. Keep that for a few years and at a big milestone, upgrade to your dream setting. That way you get a better stone now and eventually you can put that better stone in the dream setting.

That said, if you feel you could only make a solitaire setting last six months, I wouldn't bother, just spend the extra money now to get something you are happier with.
