Show me your Neck Mess

Addition of diamond hamsa. I’m actually getting sick of these paper clip chains. I love the look but 2 is 1 too many do I’m going to find something finer, maybe a rolo or thicker box chain, instead of wearing these two clunkers together. Anyway I LOVE the hamsa! This is a piece I’ll want to wear all the time. 537B63D8-4E45-41A0-820A-C41A94DA0DBA.jpeg

I admired the two Hamsa pieces on Oakgem this morning...

Ok..This is a mix of platinum, white gold and sterling silver..My bunny pendant is on its way so will set that one up later..I also love acorns so stuck that little one in there too! I think I needed to make the necklaces a little more asymmetric but it’s my first one..lol3512AC80-8D1D-469A-BD9A-EA2E84D42FF6.jpeg

LOVE!!

Thank you @cushioncutnut and @@siamese3! It actually really dresses up, in a fun way, the boring usual tops I wear!

Dat true! And to maximize wear--otherwise stuff just sits around unworn and unloved.

Yes! The neck mess made me pull out the heart and acorn pendants. I usually wear one of my Tiffany pendants by themselves. I’m hooked!

Heart adds something sweet + shape and the acorn adds something organic + depth. :appl: :kiss2:

That is stunning! Mine is .52 ctw and 14k…and farrrr less expensive. I am the (craft) beer to your champagne, darling. Lol

Trying to figure out the “neck mess” rules. Is it like floral design where odd numbers rule? Should I be wearing at least 3 necklaces at a time? What about mixing a white gold necklace and a yellow gold paperclip chain? I think all of your photos are amazing and I keep wanting to give it a whirl, but I’m a rule follower and need “the rules”.

I don’t think there are any hardcore rules. My personal rule is that it is unlike layering necklaces, where in no one necklace crosses or touches another. my rules dictate that there are “too many” pendants, and something ( a chain) needs to cross over another necklace. It is completely personal though. You just gotta play around, and when you find the right combo, you will know what the rules are for you.

I took off my acorn necklace because it was an even four. I’m the same..

I think you should just mess around with it and see what happens. ;)

OMG you're slaying me! Seriously. Dang. I can't even decide which one of these I like best.

The swallow pendant is amazing! But...then the intaglio....argggg...I want them alllllllll!!!!!!!

Is that the name of the thicker shorter chain? I LIVE That one. Want!

They are all beautiful, aren't they? I don't know what the name of the thicker, shorter chain is - @stracci2000 is it an antique Figaro?

I honestly don't know what this chain is called.
It is an antique Albert style men's watch chain, converted into a necklace. I once read that when pocket watches fell out of fashion, many of the chains were repurposed into necklaces.
It is marked 14k, but tests around 12k.
Found at a local yard sale for $2.00, weighs 22.44g!
The seller didn't know what it was, and I did, no apologies! It's not my job to educate sellers.

Gaaahhh -- what a find! I need to go to more garage sales. The detail work on it is divine.

I am really bad at layering chains! I don't think I have ever done it and have a sensitive neck! I am an HSP.
20220919_180425.jpgk! Here are some photos I took for a Celestial Jewelery thread in CS. This is about as messy as my neck will get! I was happy to get it off finally!

This thread has really inspired me. I have so many chains that there are all types of combos!

I like this combo, especially for this time of year. The moon pendant reminds me of harvest moons and Halloween!

My mess for today! I finally got my Ireland bunny coin necklace. The chain was too long so I put it on the Paperclip chain with the pearl.

I also have a strand of individually knotted small pearls that I purchased when I was in my thirties. That‘s a long time ago! :oops2:I remember paying $600 for them thinking I was fancy..Haha! They don’t have much of a sheen so I don’t think they’re good pearls. I will add them to the mix!

this is something i could have written :lol-2:
