First, new poster here, but these forums have been very helpful in my education about diamonds and the buying process.
I'm looking to spend $4,000-$5,000 on an engagement ring.
It has to be a yellow gold ring and preferable oval cut. Right now I'm looking at very simple or solitaire settings for a 1ct-ish Oval cut stone in the H-J color range with VG to Excellent cut/proportions.
I'd love to see examples in that colorrange, but any oval cut diamonds in yellow gold would be nice. It's tough to find and I had one local consignment (read:pawn for rich people) shop practically laugh me out of the store for even asking.
