Show me your Pearls!

Hi there, here are mine!
bought them at itsmygemme. Was looking for something different and not a classic standard white pearl necklace. Unique necklace with white shiny freshwater pearls, rainbow colored gems, sapphires and tourmalines. Such a colorful party around my neck! 5D519CEA-2718-444C-9E51-DA556DABEBAE.jpeg

Yes . I love that they are not perfect. But they are perfect for me.

Love all of these pearls! Here are mine. They were my mothers strand that she gave to me 1 year before she passed away. I wore them on my wedding day as my "something borrowed". She bought them in 1992 from Gump's in Beverly Hills (I still have the original receipt), 32" long "opera" length. 7.5-8mm roseé Cultured Japanese pearls. Not sure if these are Akoya as the receipt doesn't mention Akoya but they appear to be good quality. Clasp says Gump's H.K. which upon research stands for Hong Kong and the box has a logo that says Tokyo and New York. Currently looking to buy some Akoya studs to match. 129822825_10160431902513146_2265401363762451589_n.jpg129733030_10160432089703146_5380446854219665932_n.jpg130043319_10160432089733146_5024696970151573319_n.jpg129840227_10160431975158146_2414303482543100869_n.jpg

I have a fat neck too, haha! I doubled them up on my wedding day but now my neck is too fat to do that and they literally choke me when I try :-)

Y’all I fixed it! Finally happy with this bracelet!! It’s been bugging me for months, it looked “unfinished”. I added three 8-9mm onyx rounds, put rose gold grommets on all beads except the onyx, and added 4mm rose gold spacers.

Just the grommets alone made a world of difference! Instantly elevated the look. And the smaller beads between the largers solve the issue of elastic becoming visible between big beads when on the wrist.

I’ll actually wear this now!

You have such a good eye. I love the gold and the contrasts.

My just 18 year old Son got his license & car so he has been my chauffeur for the last two days, I took a car selfie wearing my Australian WSS semi baroque strand (& Australian WSS drop earrings).
The photos show their lustre in bright and shaded sunlight.

those are just beautiful :kiss2:

Thank you @Daisys and Diamonds I had to meet a lecturer regarding my upcoming study, so I didn’t need to overdress and therefore wore casual clothing but I wanted to wear this strand. My lecturer commented on the pearls ‘asking me what they were’ and we spent ages talking about pearls - this has happened to me often, I feel like I may help to create other pearl enthusiasts.

Thanks for the tip MakingTheGrade! I bought one and it works well. I need to order another now, lol. Today I'm wearing some chunky metallic edisons, some keshi and ripple pearl earrings and a mixed freshadama and a lavender FW bracelet.

Catmom.. have followed your threads and jewels for a long time. Didn't know you had gotten into pearls. You have one of the most extensive and impressibve colored stone demi parures. If you ever a tiara in any gemstone, I will start a petition to deign you royal. :)

Aww thank you wt101, how kind of you to say! No tiaras in the future but pearls, oh yes, I have totally fallen down that rabbit hole.

Correct thread! Here it is as worn by Lil Sis.

It’s a golden south sea in an 18 carat gold and platinum setting

I soooooo wanted it but she’s wanted a pearl ring her entire life. Plus my husband and son both lectured me on the importance of sharing with one’s favourite sibling (ironically both are only children!!!)
