Even though I only had this setting made for my pear last year, the repair work that was carried out in the New Year is bothering me. It now sports a rather clumsy V-prong that doesn't flow & although is study, its wonky & the solder isn't smooth. It REALLY bothers me as I wear my rings all the time. Also where the v-prong area was heated, the shoulders of the ring have ever so slightly curved forwards towards it & are no longer straight. But I am finished with this jeweler & don't want to speak with them again
As I turn the big 40 next year, last night my husband suggested we had a whole new setting made from scratch, incorporating the small princess cut diamonds from my original engagement ring. So now I'm sketching!
Does anyone have a pear with unusual sides? Anyone with traps, half moons & princess cuts in the band? I am using this opportunity to bling my ring into possibly its last incarnation. I have 3 x 3mm princess cuts & 8 x 2.5mm princess cuts to possibly be incorporated
