oooooooH Kismet!!! that's some sweet collection of treasure's you are showing!!! I love your stickpin/pendant - what a cool setting! Any photos of what it looks like now on your neck?

Thanks Enerchi! I don't actually have pictures of it now but it doesn't look very different. I just have the pin stem removed and I hang it on a fine chain that I can thread through the body of the pendant.

I'm so glad these are going to a PS'er. I've been madly in love with them for months! I can live vicariously.

LMAO! Perfectly said- I couldn't agree more! :lickout:

My new studs that are on their way to my hot little paws! 1.40tcw oec's...supposedly G color. They look pretty white, but I doubt they're G. I'll be happy if they're J.

haha thanks ladies! I break out in hives every time I wear it. :cheeky:

Beautiful stones everyone! I love how old cuts photograph--a small change in angle, and you have a different looking stone. Such personality!

Trannies--lol. I was showing a non-jewelry friend this thread, and he was perplexed by our use of "tranny" ...hahaha I'm so used to it, I don't even think about it!

Coati's stone is the ultimate in OECs. I'd give almost anything to see it in person. I've learned firsthand that these old stones are WAY prettier in person than they are in photos and Coati's stone is breaktaking in photos already.

I have a few now.....

and the first ring in this post!?

aljdewey! you have an amazing collection! I love the twin antique setting of the OEC's. I'd imagine that was made to be a very symbolic ring between the partner and original owner. Your 2.18 ring and the studs in jackets ain't too shabby either!!! ;)) All of them are stunning--- you are a very lucky lady! Good research paid off :appl:

Thank you! That means a lot coming from a lady with many, many gorgeous pieces! ;) I'm continuing to work on increasing my collection of old stones....

Looks like we have some new ones to add here . . .

My precious :) Currently at BGD getting some girdle rehab done to make her strong enough to be set into our engagement ring! Won't know final stats for awhile, but she was measured at 5.8mm x 5.6mm, .79ct J VS2 prior to the recut. We'll have digital files of the makeover in a few weeks!

Brian estimated only 1-2 points lost in weight (keeping us above the magical .75ct) and 1/10 of a mm in spread.

I own only one at this point but I like it an awful lot! It's in a vintage platinum ring from the 1920s. I had it looked at and the center stone is between .40 & .45 pts. and is a F VS. Hopefully it will have a sister soon. Now that I own an "old" OEC, I'm setting my sights on choosing a "new" OEC (an AVR, .50 to .60 pts.) from Jonathan's inventory. The only pics I have of my ring are of it before it was sized. I'm not big into taking pictures lately. That's why I never posted a picture of it before.

I tried taking photos of both earrings together, and my camera wouldn't focus at all. I take a photo of one earring, and my camera gets confused on which diamond it wants to focus on. I try to get ear shots, and the earring won't hang properly so that it's facing the camera straight on! How do people get photos of earrings!

Oh fooey, I give up. This is the only one that came out semi decent to show the pattern of the cut on the top, smaller diamond. I can't get my darn camera to even focus on the larger one's pattern. It keeps picking up the inclusions as the main focus. I think I need a new camera!

This is one of the two earrings that I purchased from Athenaworth from the pre-loved sub forum. ::) So far I'm giving this pair lots of lovin'. I wear them almost daily!

Adding my OEC again since I had her set.

1.12 OEC center stone, L/VS2 with .32 ctw OECs in the platinum setting. Edwardian, circa 1907-1912. This had been my great-grandmother's ring.

I should add mine for prosperity! My newest .91 next to my .5 both from Fortekitty.
