Short wire is the way to go. I have a sneaking suspicion you're working on many good things..... :) Can't wait to see your treasures.

Lolol you are fun ;-)

Setting from Grace. Bought diamond from Marymm. Will find specs! I had basket plated with yellow gold to bring out the tint!

1.35ct Antique Cushion Cut Diamond. Grace said "the diamond has a soft cushiony outline - very blocky, with lots of warm fire. The diamond faces up a soft butter yellow under most lighting conditions. This diamond would look great in a pendant, in a bezel, as well as a halo. Color is estimated to be R/S/T, VS2 clarity. Measures 6.86 x 6.47 xm x 4.55 mm". I think it is buttery sometimes then pale pale yellow and creamy other times.

These are all gorgeous! I find that pictures are not always very accurate in showing color. I once ordered L and M AVC's and I only got a couple of pictures that came close to showing actual color, so I thought I'd post them here. In the first picture, the top round diamond is G color for reference. The top AVC is M and the lower is L. They were pretty close to the same color. I'd love to have a lower colored one to set in a halo to accentuate the color.

Hope you post if you get your halo - I love a lower colour set in a whiter halo, especially an older cut.

Here's another warm one...

R and G- your collection is beyond amazing!!! Love that one too.

Thank you! I really am scaling back, trying hard :)

I adore this ring, and it is very much like what I have in mind for an antique cushion of some kind! I wish we could see the color of the stone better, though. I love to see the contrast of the stone and the halo!

DS-- anything for you. My daughters will take a couple pics.

This one-- my most cherished old euro-- does show its tint.

Another one.

DS-- I am likely going to take the euro out of this setting. The mount will need a home...

The last two pics show its color.

My GIA LVS1 OEC. And here's a video I took last year. Sorry it is not the best as I am not good with the ( phone or probably any) camera. Including it though so you can see how an L OEC looks in daylight inside the house.

Missy your ring is stunning! What pretty hands you have too. I have hand envy!!

Thank you Maisie! That is so generous of you to say. No need for hand envy though as they are quite dry and not so lovely looking these days LOL. LOVE your ring too. OMG your setting is gorgeous. It reminds me of a ring my grandmother had that I just loved so much.

I love how it reminds you of your grandmother's ring. I am rather proud of my ring :))

GIRLS!! These RINGS! I died about a hundred times over the gorgeousness! Thank you so much for sharing your warm stones with everyone. Isn't this a cool club to be a part of?

Like some of you, I too, set mine in yellow gold to bring out it's natural color! Smart girls we are

caf -

Would you mind posting a photo of the yellow basket? I've heard this spoken of often, but have never seen one and can't really picture it. Many thanks!

Yes will do so this w/e. Plus my pictures stink. The ring is really pretty and my pics don't do it justice!

I'll have to find that one and re-post for you.
How are you? How's your dreamy emerald cut?

Good morning Rand!!
All is well here.. can't believe it's March 1st already. :o
Funny you mention the emerald ring.. I was going to take some new pics and post them this morning on this fun thread.
How are all your baubles?

Thanks to Neil, its a lovely Sunday morning revisiting music of old while its still quiet in these parts.
Oh I love your emerald cut ring-- please post :) It's another great example!
My baubles are ever evolving.... I've taken on some new pieces, and I've let go of some too. It's a process, LOL.

And Rubies, at some point, an East Coast contingency must organize an event. I need to try on your emerald cut...

Yes please - let me in on the east coast meetup too- would love to meet some of you !!
