Gemgirl, speaking of BIG, I LOVE the pear diamond in your yellow gold set. Forgive me if I have missed any of your posts about it, but do you still wear the set? Pears are probably my most favorite fancy shape and yours is stunning! Not to detract from complimenting you on your new set, of course!

Hi NEU, yes absolutely, I still wear my pear. I love it. It's a 1.51 ct. G SI1 with good proportions. Until I have the funds to reset my pear in platinum, I like having the option of wearing either yellow gold or white gold.

Yes, I really do still love my pear diamond. For some reason, I find myself wearing yellow gold more in winter time. I'm not sure why. To me it just looks better with warm clothes, sweaters etc. but yes definitely, I still wear my pear!

I never seem to tire of looking at everyone's different sets. I never, ever thought that I would wear my new pave band with my solitaire, but somehow, I decided that it's kind of fun. Has a 70's retro feel to it and I guess it's just such a dramatic change from my shared prong eternity. Reminds of the versatility of the classic solitaire. Not a great photo of either ring but I really lack patience sometimes.

Finally, I got a matching set. The 3ctw eternity with 15-pt melees matches better with my 3-stone e-ring (much better than the 40-pt stones in the left photo). Thanks to Chris, Debbie, Vera, and the entire WF team for making it possible.

All size 6 rings. All RB's are ACA's. Superb products, customer service, and workmanship.

These are are my wifes e-ring and band, as well as my band. The E-ring is a Scott Kay, while the band is a A Jaffe. I had the hardest time finding a band that would sit perfectly flush against the halo, while still maintaining a similar setting and carat size. My ring is a custom Cobalt and Plantum from a retailer on Etsy by the name of StonebrookJewelry who does excellent work. I'll post better pictures after the wedding.

I finally can add my new set to this awesome thread!

Stats: e-ring is a 1.81 carat H SI1 in halo with plain 2.5mm shank, and the wedding band is my grandmother's pave band from circa 1950. Both are white gold.

here's mine, I usually wear it just with the diamond band, but today I just finished adding a matte finish to the plain band myself, thought it looked good together.

Your set looks amazing! I love the matte finish... how did you do that?
