Show us your bicolor gems

Yes - there are some awesome crystals.

Look at the long blue to colorless tourmaline in my picture - was a cheap (10EUR) afghanistan stone - I picked it out of a large lot.
A terrible cut but the stone clean with a fine color!! Sometimes it is a shame!

I missed a gorgous gem - a bicolor Grossular!!! 1/3 colorless and 2/3 top green ( Tsavorite ) - a baguette around 0,60 ct... :((

These are old pics and not very good ones, but here's an ametrine I bought from a Brazilian gem cutter (technically bought from the cutter's daughter who is my friend's personal massage therapist!). Bought in my very early days of PS - I liked it because it was nearly a 50/50 split of color.

Lovely stone and ring, jstarfireb, thanks for sharing.

This is not mine unfortunately, but this is from Jeff White's galleries - a bi-coloured Mali garnet.

Fantastic garnet.

What I find awesome about this thread - and in fact, many of the threads you start Marlow - is that you have me seeing and appreciating things in a new way. These bicos are unbelievably beautiful and I don't think I own one! I've been so of the mindset of getting ring stones that are of good pure hue that I completely missed how amazing some of these stones can be. Uli's LF designs are stunning. LK, your description of yours as neverending is so intriguing that I want to see it. Anyway, thank you for the thread - I'm not at all surprised to see how fast people are responding to it.

Now I will humbly go off in search of multicolored stones as gorgeous as all in this thread.

I know that parti sapphires and ametrine are pretty common but I want something spectacular. Here are my inspiration pics!
Ricezo, the second stone reminds me of a sunset.

Minousbijoux - It makes me happy that you like this thread !!!!

Hi everyone,
I have been a lurker on PS for quite awhile but I figured that I should probably introduce myself and post a couple of photos since I have the ametrine from Uli. The stone is even better looking in real life than in pictures. He did an amazing job. I had it set by Sally who was also wonderful to work with.
Sorry for the bad photo:

  :appl:

Perfect - you set it as a pendent!!! Silver??? And the little stones??

Beautiful ametrine pendant, stormchaser.

Thanks! I will admit that all of the credit goes to Uli and Sally (I had no idea how I wanted it set). The setting is silver with a thin rope of gold on the bail. The small stones are peridot.

This tourmaline pendant is not mine, but it's a piece I admire every time I visit my jewelers. It's so much prettier than these bad pics.

This ring is set with an orange and white Montana sapphire.

Wow, nice yellow-white sapphire!!
I like the setting too. Perfect for this sapphire.

Not mine but it's too cool to not share. It's on mastercutgems. Bottom half is yellow but it faces up blue.

Tanzanite?

Yep, and much prettier than in that pic. :wavey:

This is such cool thread

Obviously, in my last post I meant the top half is yellow, not the bottom half, whoops.
