Some home cooked meals. Menchi katsu with salad, Korean rice cake soup, grilled patty melt with tater tots, Tuscan chicken, Oyako-don and braised beef noodle soup. That’s how I roll in my multi-cultural kitchen.IMG_4557.jpegIMG_4545.jpegIMG_4498.jpegIMG_4456.jpegIMG_4418.jpegIMG_4005.jpeg

thank goodness i cant show you a picture
it tasted good but looked like ....
sick
it was a Mexican inspired wintery cream of tomato soup
i used a bunch of soft summer tomatoes i had frozen over the summer, onion and a tin of cream corn, with warm Mexican spices, but the lite sour cream split, it tasted really good on a cold night but just did not look too wonderful, so you know who didnt finish his
sigh
im going to use the leftovers in my next chillie or maybe just head it up and add a ton of cheese and have it for breakfast before work tomorrow

Poor neglected thread!

My cake lady is unwell so she’s stopped taking orders. I’ve had to recreate her cake which is my favourite cake in the whole wide world.

Buttercake with passion fruit curd and Swiss meringue buttercream

Serious YUM factor. Any time you come to Boise, I will feed you a meal and then you can feed me one. Mine will be much simpler, like a Rib Eye on the Traeger for you and any of the family you bring with you.

I think I am probably glad you did not show this, although, I agree it sounds delicious!

I am only 25% to my goal of losing forty pounds this year, so I am trying not to see this post...

Converted Japanese food (Menchi-katsu) into Italian Pasta dish: Vodka Sauce on giant meatball and sautéed zucchini with Parmesan.IMG_4586.jpeg

A word of praise for the wonder that is spaghetti squash! Last night’s meal was spaghetti squash with meatballs and marinara sauce - a nice, somewhat healthier version of a traditional pasta dish. But the real good stuff came this morning: spaghetti squash added to lightly sautéed garlic, tiny tomatoes and spinach, topped with two eggs and a sprinkling of Parmesan. What a way to start the day!

I've been making spaghetti squash recently, so thanks for the breakfast idea. I just wish the darn things were easier to cut open!

My embarrassingly large buffet breakfasts this week. I’m not even sure what some of this stuff was — but I tried it anyway!
