Show us your high jewelry!

I've always considered my custom dragonfly brooch/pin to be pretty high end but I don't know. It can also be worn as a pendant. FY, FB and white diamonds.

Delicate, elegant & playful all at the same time @Catmom ! I love the pave wings

Equally amazing are your memories of the fine jewels that were posted in 2010! Wish I had your great memory! It's a lovely set!

Funny you should say that...I've been forgetful and absent-minded lately. So much so I almost placed a lit candle inside the fridge!!
Le sigh...

I wonder if my diamond necklace and bracelet qualify as such! Maybe not but i will post them anyway !!! The necklace is approximately 11 carats and the bracelet 6 carats of diamonds, both set in 18 kt yellow gold. They were offered to me by my beloved parents in law as a wedding gift and I will be forever grateful to them for their generosity and kindness, because my mother in law confided in me that she had been saving money in order to buy this gift since her son was born! This woman decided that she will love her future daughter in law, the day her son came to this world. I am beyond words...
Sadly, my husband has been keeping them in a safety deposit box and I haven't seen them or worn them in years. I understand his point of view but sometimes I wonder what is the point of owning something so beautiful when you can't enjoy it!
I'm posting a very old photo of those pieces that I took the day after my wedding! I remember myself wearing a simple summer dress and the diamonds and playing in front of the mirror!
I understand that the photos are not good, I'm sorry about that!

Ooops...apologies, @Natylad. I meant all 17 carats of your set + your ring + your eternity band are all high jewelry :D. I hope you’re feeling better today❤️

Your necklaces are simply stunning, @Polabowla and @Rubies-R-Me!!

Your collection of brooches are all high jewelry to me, @Catmom!

I just read the worthy article about high jewelry, because I feel like maybe we are somewhat missing what high jewelry is. PSers have absolutely beautiful jewelry collections and there are many beautiful pieces on this thread, but I can't think of many actual high jewelry pieces ever posted here. That large blue diamond is one IF it was real. The article does say it is hard to define. But here are some of the major points:

"Nobody in the industry will deny that high jewelry should contain only the finest quality of rare gems and precious metal, be of distinctive design and exquisite craftsmanship (presumably handmade), probably comes from a famous designer or jewelry house, and so on. With all that, it’s obviously costly and it also holds its value. A very rare or bespoke piece is even quite likely to gain value, not just hold it."

It goes on to say that Tiffany, Cartier, VCA, Chopard, Bulgari, etc. all have well known jewelry that most of us can buy (such as Cartier Love bracelets, VCA Alhambra, etc.) and then they have their high jewelry collections that are really only accessible to a few.

This is Tiffany high jewelry:

Here's some Bulgari high jewelry:

Here's some of Van Cleef & Arpels high jewelry. VCA does use some semi-precious gems at times in their high jewelry pieces, but it fits in with the overall artistic vision.

Here's a link to a site on high jewelry:

Many beautiful pictures and articles on this site!

I am honestly not sure if the OP really meant high jewelry or to just show our best jewelry?

For many yrs members on watch forums been arguing what's high end and what's not. Most do agree that a watch loaded with diamonds is not high end b/c you are paying for a piece of jewelry and not horology.

IOW, A $10k paint job on a Ford Pinto does not make that Pinto a high end car.

I think it depends. What is high jewelry to some is not to others and vice versa. I also think sadly most people do not dare to post theirs here thinking their pieces are not high enough.

In my opinion there is no such thing and perhaps everyone should Post their highest/favorite piece? After all PSers tend to own “higher jewelry” than 90 % of the population. We are at the least connosieurs here with superb taste.

Anyhow, many of those truly high pieces are boring or too much to me or both and the pieces shared here are much nicer and definitely more unique with character which matters to me more. So why not play and share?

Now, of course I so wish I could play and share. Sadly not allowed even though my faves and personal collection is not, nor will it ever be for sale if I can help it.

I am not in any way discounting the beautiful collections that PSers have. These are more wearable pieces by far, than any "high jewelry" collections. I hope no one misunderstands that. I'd rather have a great pair of studs and a classic 8 ct ACA tennis bracelet any day over high jewelry that I would never have the opportunity to wear! I just think maybe there needs to be a thread for showing "your high end jewelry", or "your finest quality jewelry", or something to that effect. That would be a fun thread. I am a teacher and I guess using correct word meaning is ingrained in me! High jewelry just has a different meaning than "high end" or our personal "finest quality jewelry".

@Dancing Fire Very true that an expensive watch may not be considered in the top tier of watches just due to the materials from which it is made or a brand name. I am not a watch aficionado, but I am aware of the serious watch people who would certainly look down on any watch I'll ever own! I am happy for those who have the high jewelry and the best watches. I admire the workmanship. But I am content with the quality of jewelry that I have and can afford to buy!
