TL, I love that purply blue sapphire. I wish I had a big honker in that color.

It's actually more blue IRL, for some reason it looks more violet there. It's my "bluest" stone. It really doesn't color shift that much either. Thanks for the kind words.

Loving everyone's pastels, and Chrono, you should wear those giant rings as stackers. :cheeky: :naughty:

Do you ever plan on doing anything with your box of pastels in one project?

I would love to make a cluster ring, but that would have to be custom, and I don't have a jeweler nearby who could do the work. I would want to do it in argentium silver, and no jeweler I know does it. They all insist on working only in gold and platinum. Therefore, I would have to ship the stones off and that makes me too nervous. :errrr:
Hmm, you don't want to send it off. That is tough. I had a hard time sending one of my stones to LA, but I think I'm getting over it. The jewelers near me (DC) are too expensive that I can't set anything the way I want.

It would also be a perfect project for Sally at Heart of Water.

Tell me about it but I don't want to ship to Thailand. I have an innate fear of shipping stones, especially out of the country.

Pretty, even though I don't think I could say "stibiotantalite, väyrynenite, jeremejevite" quickly three times.

:D

Try it after some glasses champagne!

Aaah! Amazing collection Marlow!

The "light pinkish sapphire" is a very light apricot 0,48 ct - the beginning of the padparadscha color range - with strong pink fluor.

Maybe to light for a ring but a nice collector stone.

I also love your bi coloured tourm and apricot sapphire Marlow. Do you have a group shot of your pad coloured stones? If so, I'd love to see!

I hope your vanadium chrysoberyls and bicolour tourmaline Marlow!

Marlow,

I love your bi-colour Tourmaline!

Chrono,

I love your RH Blue Zircon.

DK

Chrono, your mint garnet is crazy beautiful. What a great color.

I do not have many pad colored stones.

2 corundum ( you see the little cushion is really pale), the väyrynenite and four tanzanian spinel - the cushion is baby pink to compare...

cushion sapphire, väyrynenite and spinel

Thanks Marlow, you have an amazing collection.

Not sure if this count as "pastel" as I would consider it as "icy" myself, however, this is my Jeff Davies Aquamarine that I shall set in an Art Deco inspired setting at the end of this month:

I recently purchased a RDF Amethyst, also from JD, however, the colour does not pop at me (I love the shape and cut though), therefore, it is likely to be set as a pendant bale to take different pearl drops instead of a ring.

Oh gosh, I am in love with all these amazing colored gems.

I am sorry I don't have any true gems to share as I am not a colored stone aficionado but I so enjoy you all sharing your marvelous collection here. A huge thank you to all of you in this colored stone forum. You make PS a colorful wonderland and this section is truly a gemstone Shangri-la.

Here are my green ammy earrings I got years ago from Sarah(bear). Even though they are not special stones I love these earrings. They are a pretty pastel green.

I am going to rummage around and see what I can find - so beautiful all of these stones. Jstarfireb, love the fact that you scored apatite at TJ Maxx! These are so beautiful and frankly, I would be happy if all you did all day Marlow is take photos of your collection and post them here. :cheeky:

Gah! All so gorgeous!

ETA: Ricezo, you have definitely inspired me with your gorgeous group shots on your fingers and on the wood table. Now I want to do the same!

Thanks Minou! My gem photography is certainly lacking but I try! It's so hard to capture the colours accurately!

Ah, I wish I could play! ::)
