So, I am sitting here trying to decide on our toasting flutes... It seems like such an insignificant detail, but of course I can''t decide what to get once again!
I thought I''d ask you PSers for some inspiration.

I haven''t got a picture, but we just used a pair that someone gave us at one of our showers. They are a lovely set of Waterford flutes. We didn''t register for fancy cut crystal, but I suppose it is nice to have some nonetheless. We also got a second pair from a second pattern, and our BM and MOH used those during their toasts. It was my mother''s idea to use them. I had just assumed we''d use the glasses our caterer brought along, but I must say, the fancy flutes did look pretty.

I haven''t even thought of toasting flutes.....Questions:

1) Does the whole bridal party have the same flutes as the bride and groom? Or do the bride and groom have separate, "special" flutes???
2) Crystal flutes or regular old champagne glasses?????

Toasting flutes for the wedding are special flutes for the bride and groom (not the whole bridal party) to use during the toasts at the reception. I registered for the Vera Wang "Love Knots" toasting flutes, and one of my very good friends gave them to me at my shower. They are so pretty and delicate and looked FAB in the pics!!!

Gotcha! So, does the bridal party toast also? And do you buy them flutes also? I assume cheaper ones?

Sorry that I''m such a toasting-flute-dummy!!!

Cleo- Everyone at the reception will have a toasting flute (all the guests, including the bridal party). So, the only flutes you have to purchase (and you dont even have to- only buy them if you want to have something special to use and that you can keep forever) are for you and your fiance.

We used the Tiffany classic flutes..got them from ebay. Very simple. The only problem was that we didn''t put anything special on them (I didn''t want to add flowers or ribbons), but it turns out they were almost identical to the toasting flutes at the reception hall that everyone else drank out of!! So the servers had to be careful not to take ours to the kitchen after we set them down at our table! It''s funny because the venue kept asking me ''Are you sure you don''t want to add ribbon or something?'' If they had mentioned the reason I should do something, I would have completedly done it! So I would recommend SOMETHING to make them stand out a bit if they are simple-looking!

These were ours, a family tradition is to get our flutes at the Renaissance Faire. Out of all the versions they had, these vines were the closest to our autumn theme.

Thanks ladies! I guess I hadn''t thought about registering for them... duh! I suppose I''ll choose some at Macy''s then.
I like these ones, but FI isn''t thrilled with them. But, then he adds that he doesn''t really care what we use. I think I''ll just ignore his comments since he says he doesn''t care after all

We just used the ones provided by the restaurant... nothing fancy.

Happy in Love, all of those choices are great--- but so distinctly different. The Vera wang are very feminine, the Calvine Cline are clean and modern, and I especially like the Orrefors Helena, but I couldn''t exactly say why. Maybe because they are plain enough to match anything but fancy enough to stand out? I think any of them would work really.

Things Remembered is having a sale on some of their toasting flutes and cake server sets....This is the picture from their website, but mine turned out beautiful with the engraving!!

Hi, I got married in the fall, and used these personalized toasting flutes. They were only $30.

It would help if I attached the picture...

I plan on buying these. Cut Crystal Flutes

The price is reasonable and they''d be a nice keepsake to use when the two of us want to celebrate something special.

i hadn''t even thought of this -- it will be a nice to have on our list

but the ones posted are beautiful!

i didn''t really like the ones that we used. without any of my input my mom bought them and gave them to me at one of my showers and they aren''t really that cute, but i couldn''t really not use them since she gave them to me. but my sister in law and brother in law had these really cute ones:

we got the whole love knots set for our engagement, however it all cost 200 and i just cant justify it!! i think im returning them for simple his and hers glasses 29 at bed bath

Our toasting flutes were by Nambé and were an engagement gift from my BIL's mom who we both adore. We also wanted to use something simple, classic and modern - not too "weddingish"

Plus we can reuse them again and not feel weird about it. We actually used them before our wedding last New Years when we had a party at our place!

Amber- I love those! I have a set almost like it, instead it''s dragons that make the form of a heart when sitting together.

Since we got married on Halloween, we used these for our glasses-

These were the first ones I saw and I loved them!!! FI wasn''t into the "ribbon" look as he called it. This is where our tastes differ! He kept picking up super heavy, super ornate cut crystal flutes. I like the lighter feel and the delicate detail of the Nambe ones.

They are pretty cool, and very heavy!! It''s nice to have somewhat of a keepsake, too.

Thanks! Actually the "ribbon" is so thin, that it''s barely even noticeable. They really are cool looking, but if he''s looking for something plain, then I guess these aren''t it.

happy in love...we registered for the Calvin Klein "Halcyon". We received as gift from my grandmother at our engagement party. They are very simple, clean and modern looking. We love them!

We received these gorgeous Swarovski "crytalline" toasting flutes as an engagement present from one of my oldest friends and her parents. Her mother collects Swarovski so it was a fantastic gift from her. But they are INCREDIBLY expensive and extravagant, and I''d never have requested them as a gift.

Ok, I have a question. What is the difference between the cone chaped toasting flutes, and a regular tulip shaped champagne glass?

I am getting the Vera Wang Duchesse wine glasses, and want champagne glasses to match. There are two shapes available:

The traditional shape

and what they call a toasting flute:

Does that 2nd picture show up for people?

Someone on ebay has 8000 of the toasting flutes they are trying to sell. They have been going for about $25/pair (regular price $80/pair).

Anyone know advantages differences between the two?

Nightmare Before Christmas is my BF''s favorite Christmas time movie... we have to go see it every year when it comes out in theatres!!! It was actually the first movie we saw together in a theatre, hahah!! These are great!!

Here is another attempt at posting that 2nd type of flute:
