Here is a link to the photostream of my engagement ring, wedding ring, and new right hand ring. If I were to do it over again, I would have not insisted that my husband get me a .47 diamond for my ering or I would have gotten a thinner band. I think the proportions would be a little better if the center diamond were a bit larger- maybe a .8? or the band were sleeker. We bought the stone and setting in separate transactions and so did not see them together. I love my ering and think it is dainty and beautiful, but we chose to buy the next ring with the stone already set.
We both went in person to choose the right hand ring for an anniversary and it was so much easier to find something beautiful quickly because we could see the proportions and everything in person. Even though you can find less expensive and nice designer jewelry on the internet, there will always be something special about picking out these art pieces in person. I think the premium is worth it to make sure you get what you love and the proportion of setting to stone is to your taste.
