You really need to call them or Yuki and ask them. A gemologist will be able to give you the best advice. It could be a durability risk if it's on the girdle, but if not, I wouldn't worry about it. But, talking to them would get you the most accurate answer.

I've always heard if it breaks the surface, it's a durability issue. If it doesn't, it's supposedly not.

Didn't you say you were going to an independent appraiser? I definitely would address that question to him or her.
