The smell of sweet rich garden soil
Biting into a homegrown tomato still warm from the sun
Snuggling with my FH
Snuggling with my cats
Chocolate and a fine, fine red wine for dinner
multiple orgasms
Poking my head out of a tent in the morning and inhaling clean mountain air

When the dog bites,
When the bee stings,
When I''m feeling sad,
I simply remember my favorite things,
And then I don''t feel so bad.

ahhh yes, the many simple pleasures

Raindrops on roses and whiskers on kittens
Bright copper kettles and warm woolen mittens
Brown paper packages tied up with strings
These are a few of my favorite things

the smell of brownies or cookies baking
when my kids just want to "cuddle"
yankee candle''s
when hubby offers to bring home dinner so I don''t have to cook

yelling at my teenage daughters to clean up their rooms,even if they don''t listen.well now.... i only get to yell at the younger one the older one is away for college.

Looking at my rose, hibiscus and bird of paradise bushes in the yard

Taking a nice hot shower or soaking in the tub

Playing my flute ... making beautiful music

Singing songs to websailor (he''s cried on more than one ocassion)

Listening to the waterfall over the pool when the pumps/pool motors are running

And eating ... love to eat

Making my neice and nephew laugh
Smelling the already done coffee when I get up in the am. (Don''t believe in getting out of bed before there is coffee brewing)
The freshness of a sunny morning after a couple of rainy days (especially lately)

-peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
-a favorite song playing on the radio
-our snuggling puppy
-a beautiful sunset
-gardening on a cold day, getting ready for spring
-Greg leaving me a clipped out story from the WSJ on something he thinks I'd find interesting

Holding my sweet pup after a long day,

hot blankets straight from dryer (throwing them on sofa, so my daughter, dogs, and I can curl up for movie)
she must love it, she has told my parents and at school when they wrote what they loved about their mom.

fresh hot cocoa on a winter night

having fun with daughter and her pals

going to a park with pets and dd.

picking pumpkins at eckerts farm, shopping there

watching a good tv movie, popcorn, and must have Coke!!!

'pancaking out'...portia does that too, we call it 'bear rug'...because she is fluffy and white.

Everyone has such nice simple pleasures. A number of them are my favorites too.

I''ve had a hard time posting on this thread because there is just one thing that keeps coming into my mind (don''t know why exactly).

Every day that I wake up is another day of life and for that I am very happy. It''s almost too simple....

Great simple pleasures!!!!

Some of mine (I had to add them because it got me thinking):

* snuggling in bed with my DF
* Popcorn at movies
* laughing so hard you can''t breath
* Sitting in front of a fireplace on a cold day
* The sounds of little children enjoying themselves
* Buying new shoes (Ok, new ANYTHING)
* The smell of fresh baked bread
* Dancing until your sides hurt
* watching a sleeping baby (or my sleeping DF)
* dressing up and going out
* Slipping into a hot tub when it''s cold outside
* getting a handwritten letter in the mail
* wearing my DF''s shirt/sweater that still smells like him
* our bed with super soft high thread count sheets, many feather pillows and comforter
* a big hug from my mom
* having an amazing hair day
* heading out for a well-deserved vacation

There are so many more....but these are just a few

-waking up early on the weekends and staying in bed to watch Fox & Friends on the Fox Channel, snuggling and cracking up with my BF
-first sip of dunkin donuts coffee on the way to school (on a super cold morning)
-talking with my mamma and daddy everyday on the phone
-holding the door open for anyone i can
-saying hello to all the patients that come thru the door (especially elderly, love old people

)
-the smell of the ocean
-a nite out with the girls, drinking a cold beer, when i am visiting home

Gosh I feel like weeping! This is such a great thread.
Here are a efw of mine:
- Snuggling w/ Dh
-the way DH can make our 22 mo old daughter laugh
- Fresh flowers for no reason, always brightens the house up
- springtime gardening, and everyone wanting to be outside
- getting flirted w/ by a stranger, just makes ya feel alive!
-hearing a hawk screach overhead
-being a totally goofball w/ DH
-remebering cross country trips and spending months in the keys fishing and relaxing! (those were the days!)
-getting out w/ friends and having the type of fun that could never be duplicated even if you tried
-driving to the Poconos to see the fall colors
-margaritas in the summer.
-putting in my fav. cd and driving w/ the top off the jeep in the summer. Makes me feel so young!
- remembering the birth of Eden and planning for another child. (homebirth!!)
-holidays
-getting dressed up and DH noticing!!!
-a harvest moon
-a shooting star
Ok I''ll stop! I could go on and on! There are so many little things in life that can so easily go unnoticed, I try to sick back and take it all in.

Leasurely hot baths where you can just lay there and relax as long as you want - and there is unliminted hot water to keep the tub warm....

Hi everyone,

Here is a picture of Molly at Mxas time. I will post more pictures of her in the "No Dogs Allowed" thread, I think that applies to her!

She is descented (they do that when they are itty bitty babies) and she eats mostly vegetables. She loves eggs and cheese and basically anything with fat in it. She''s not supposed to eat anything with too much fat in it, but that doesn''t mean that it doesn''t make her heart sing when she smells it : )

Here are a few of mine.
Snuggling with my hubby.
Having some alone time with each of my kids.
Sitting on my favorite couch with a blanket, a cup of green tea, a good book or my knitting and having time to enjoy it.
Eating dinner and laughing with my family.
Lunch with my girlfriends.
Going to worship services.
Ski weekends and keeping up with my husband and kids (within reason) on the slopes. Just did one (sigh!)
Having my cat Bweasel (short for bed weasel) jump into my arms from the floor.
I know this is goofy, but a good commute & EZPass/Smart Tag
