It''s beautiful. I love YG solitaires. And the size looks great on your wife''s hand!

Her ring is a timeless beauty! Looks great on her. Congratulations to you both!

Lovely!!! Congrats!

The ring looks amazing! It''s pretty much exactly what I was hoping to get too!

Does this particular setting have a name? It doesn''t look like a usual Tiffany style since it tapers slightly. Congrats on such a great ring!

its beautiful

Beautiful ring, congrats!!!

Ahh! How to reply to all of these wonderful posts at once?

I'm glad everyone likes the simple setting and it does look gorgeous on her hand. We wanted to emphasize the diamond though we went with a slightly thicker band to balance things out.

Thanks for the compliments on the idealscope. It was put together for $4

It was fun looking at all of the stones locally. I really liked narrowing down the 20-30 stones that I saw in total to this one as I searched.

I only knew it as a "Tiffany style" ring. The tag or receipt only say solitaire 4 post setting yellow solid / white head. The jeweler described it as a "heavy shank" since I didn''t want the thinnest band. Sorry I can''t help much more. It was pretty much the simplest setting that the stores had. Maybe the "heavier shank" is what produced the taper that you mentioned...

You are talking about the taper as it gets smaller from the profile top to bottom right?

What a lovely, classic ring....timeless setting!!

I''m a big fan of classic solitaires. Yours is very nice.

Congratulations to you both! It''s a beautiful classic ring. I like a slightly heavier shank myself. I think it will hold up to everyday wear better.

Thanks for the details! I was actually referring to the taper of the band as it nears the diamond. I think it''s easier to see in the one where you''re holding the ring in your fingers. Or is that just a lighting effect?

nice home made idealscope =)

simply nice

No, you are correct. It does taper slightly as the band nears the diamond. I happened to find the stone at Paul's Jewelery Designs their price with the setting beat the price of most online stones alone. If you wanted to be sure you got the exact same setting I'd say give them a call. I bet they'd ship out the setting if you couldn't find one locally.

That ring is perfection in my book. The stone, the size, the setting, the yellow gold, everything. Congratulations to you both. You did well.
