just got my new pair of studs in the mail and noticed just one little thing - one of the posts is sort of crooked. it doesn't affect wearing them... but i'm wondering whether you all would chalk this up to natural variation in a handmade product, or whether it's not the greatest workmanship. the other earring is perfect, which is why this was more obvious to me.

top photo shows how when basket is held so that it is straight, the post shoots off slightly to the left; the bottom photo shows how the basket is sort of not exactly centered.

Yes it looks off center to me, but first things first, do they look ok in your ear piercings? I'm asking because of the off chance that if your piercings are aligned a certain way or shifted from wear and tear over time, this MAY look straight on your lobes.

Also, have you slept in your studs? My posts are not as straight now from sleeping on them every so often.

Otherwise, I would reach out to the vendor and ask them to straighten them out for you, or whether you should bring to a local jeweler.

I must confess, I've bent some posts with my thumbs in be past because I didn't like how they aligned with the closure on a hoop, or as I mentioned earlier they looked a bit crooked after over time and sleeping lolol.

thanks pintobean! they do look okay in my ear piercings, but i haven't experimented too much with how they sit. i only got them on monday, and haven't slept in them. they looked this way right out of the box.

it's an online vendor, so unfortunately it would require shipping costs + insurance back, which is frustrating. i could ask about a local jeweler, though, that's a good idea.

If it bothers you - don't wait. Address it with the vendor immediately and ask that they incur the shipping/insurance costs. I would want them to be straight if they were my studs. Good luck :wavey:

I looked at the first picture and thought "No big deal, I could live with that", but then I saw the second picture and I was like
"Nope, going back"!

Thanks so much Queenie60 and tyty333. I wasn't sure if I was just being nitpicky or not... glad to hear you would have the same response I did. :) I'm going to contact the vendor and hope that it's easily resolved...
