small .25 carat diamond help.

I am having an engagement ring custom made and for the main diamond I am using my mom''''s .25 carat diamond. I know its kinda small but I need your opinions, what would look good with this size of diamond? Should I build a Three Stone ring, or maybe two very small .05 carat diamonds on either side. Plz Help

My original was a .25 pear, and I went with a wrap of baguettes and rounds. It gave it more of a bold appearance without doing the 3stone thing (which I personally don''t like as an engagement ring). Also, the different cuts around it lent more sparkle-factor to the ring. Here''s a pic of my original.

A friend of mine has a .25 carat diamond...it''s set in a heavy platinum half bezel and it''s gorgeous! Her fingers aren''t small...about 6.5 size...and it still looks fairly substantial because of the setting.
