Smoothing engraving off gold

Hello we have an id bracelet gold 22kt that has engraving we want removed. What is the process of smoothing 22k gold, and ballpark, how much do think it will cost? Also, where should I go searching for such a service? Thanks! S

I think any jeweller with a bench person can do this for you. It is just polished out. I don't know the cost though. Gold is removed in this process so I don't know if removing the engraving will make the bracelet too thin to wear safely.

Go to an independent fine jeweler in your town that would likely have bench people on staff or at least someone knowledgeable might work there. Most chains send the item away, so don't go to those.

Nothing new to add, but go with one with a good reputation. I thought I'd found a good B&M vendor in my area --- but boy, was I wrong! Are there any local review blogs you could check?

It shouldn't be a tough job, but just when you think something is super simple and should go smoothly... BAM... so please check them out first!
