A guy talking on his phone at a rest stop:

“You been doing spells on me? Liar.”

HI:

Spooky!!!:devil::twirl:

cheers--Sharon

I have stopped watching Dateline and 48 hours and all those murder mystery real life shows. It's a slice of depraved life and I feel much happier not partaking in that. It's funny though as I used to love watching those shows. Now they just make me feel not good. So yeah I have cut out real life icky shows and life is better (for me) without them. For now at least. My emotional health has improved since not watching these shows. Same for the news. No thank you.

One good thing about them though is now we are aware and perhaps (hopefully) more careful. I am always aware of my surroundings and always trust my gut. Best thing any of us can do. Be aware and trust your gut.

I overheard a conversation while I was on break at work. The woman was talking to her boyfriend on the phone and telling him to make sure her son ate dinner and not to forget to feed him. Then she had to explain how to get McDonald’s delivered so the kid wouldn’t go hungry!

This bit of conversation you overheard is so strange and creepy, it’s a scary world out there.

At the grocery several months ago. Still makes me giggle.

I was buying carrots. A fellow and a store associate walked up to the crate of ginger (fresh root) a few feet away.

Customer: So *this* is ginger? This is what she asked for?
Store associate nodded.
Customer: What do you do with this?
Store associate explained that he liked to put a little in breakfast shakes, “things like that”.
Customer, still looking incredibly dubious: Okay, if we’re sure this is what she wants…

He proceeds to pile ginger his bag. And I mean pile. He must have picked up a dozen large roots. I’m guessing five pounds or so? And at the time it was over $4 a pound. I thought about saying something but I didn’t exactly want to cop to listening. I still wonder what his SO’s reaction must have been when she saw what he’d come home with

This feels like what my life would've been if I'd have had kids with my ex.

@ame, I wanted to tell her that her and her son deserve better but I’m not that gutsy and it wouldn’t change anything anyways.

Good for you for deciding you deserved better, that takes immense courage.

I still have issues with HOW I left, but definitely not THAT I left. It should've happened many years before.
