I think this was a creative, albeit misguided, gift given the circumstances. It reminds me of the movie When a Man Loves a Woman where she gives him a press-on tattoo because they had a dollar limit for gifts.
I don't think I would have been pissed, but I might have been disappointed if he didn't really research it before he gave them to me.

ANYWAY, I'm happy to hear you got some jewelry, AND these caps really are worth songs!
