So...is the wedding totally planned?

I already planned on kind of splurging a little on invites, its something that I am really anal about, because it is one wedding detail that everyone will notice. Plus my aunt is in the printing business, and I know she will try to force Crane''s on me (my grandma is Crane''s freak too)...I love their stuff, but its a little plain/boring for me, and they are even a little more expensive.

Well if you''re planning on extra for the invites.. thats cool! I can''t even decide what I want for sure. I like the cute and different ones.. but I just got my best friends wedding invitation and it is very classic.. and I LOVE it!! I really may just end up going with a classic invite.. But then I feel thats boring.. and the whole thing is that I don''t want my wedding to be like everyone eleses!

My dress is very simple. I wanted something that was not the typical fluffy look..especially since this is my 2nd wedding. It''s a white chiffon sheath with a side drape and ruffle down the side. The top is a sweatheart neckline with beaded spagetti straps that cross in the back. There is a small amount of beading/sequins on the bodice. It has a small cocktail train that I will have cut off when I have the dress hemmed (after I find shoes). (I will be walking down steps--outside...I don''t need a train to trip me!) I''d post a picture but it''s a .bmp picture and it won''t post. If someone wants to tell me how I will....

I was getting a bit worried about having enough time to order a dress so I''m really glad I found one that I could just buy off the rack. I need silver sparkly shoes if anyone has any suggestions. I''d like fun, strappy, sexy sandals with around 2-3 inch heals.

ID, it sounds gorgeous!! Maybe you can do a save as and try to make it a jpg? Would love to see it. Yay!!

Ooh congrats on the dress. Your description sounds beautiful...I hope you can figure out a way to show us the pictures! And it is so not nuts, cuz you are getting married so soon!! You''re so lucky that one spoke to you so quickly.

I tried to change the bmp file to a jpg but it doesn''t work if I just change the extension and I don''t have the appropriate graphics software on my work PC. So, I''ll send the link instead. Maybe someone else can do the posting. It''s kind of funny but based on the stock picture I never, ever would have given this dress a second look. But it look really great on my figure and fit the more casual, soft look I was wanting. I liked the sweetheart neckline with the beaded straps (so much easier to wear than strapless). When I get shoes, I''ll take the digi cam and get a shot of me in it.

I know I got lucky finding something so quickly. I remember my first wedding I found a dress I liked...then went to every other bridal store in a 100 mile radius only to go back to the first one I liked. So, this time I decided I was going to save myself the time and torture of continually looking and picked one that looked good, fit the style, fit the budget and best of all didn''t need to be ordered with a wedding only 19 weeks away!

Anyway, here''s the link. It''s by Moonlight....Tango Informals.

BC, great minds!!! Too funny. And I think it''s GORGEOUS!!! ID, I wonder if you can keep a little bit of the train with the right shoes?

island dreams - thats a beautiful gown.. Perfect for an outdoor wedding.

blueroses - too funny

I was thinking the same thing about the train too - stable, comfy shoes = non-scary train.

I''m thinking there will be a bit of "poof" at the back for the train because it is inset into the dress...kind of like a V in the back where the train starts. I plan on getting 2.5-3 in silver heels. Either way, the dress is much too long right now...I''m 5''4" and dresses are made for people 5''9". I really don''t want something dragging on the floor because I plan on wearing this dress on the plane from Chicago to Miami that night. Unless of course the alterations person can make me a little bustle. I haven''t been able to find a shot from the back of this dress. Suggestions appreciated!

What do you think on a hair style for this dress? I have rather long, wavy hair. I was considering pulling the front up, then leaving the rest hanging in curls down the back. Or would it look better all the way up?

I know what you mean about length--I''m 5''3" and have to hem everything too. I think a sort of mini V-train, like you mentioned, would be gorgeous....AND it should be very easy to do a simple "American" bustle on that--basically just pinning up one middle corner.

I LOVE the getting on the plane still all glammed up--seems very timeless and old-school to me. Plus, I bet you''ll get some freebies!!

I think 1/2 up hair with flowing in the back would be gorgeous, but if you want to show off the sparkly straps and the back of the dress, all the way up with a few key loose/romantic tendrils in the front would be lovely too. That dress is going to look gorgeous no matter what you do!!
