This is a non-partisan thread, please respect that.

I''m so freaking nervous about tomorrow. I want to stay home from work, and to be able to call out on Wednesday just in case this thing turns into another all night affair. I''m going to be USELESS at work tomorrow I''m gonna be checking the polls so often.

YIKES. I feel so INVESTED and so out of control, it''s driving me nutty!!!!

Not just for the Presidential election too... CA has a lot of props I''m very interested in and I just feel like by tomorrow night my nails are gonna be bitten down to the quick (and let me tell you, they haven''t got to far to go to get there!).

Anyone else just on tenderhooks?

I''m voting in the AM then coming to work.

I kind of understand how you feel. I wish we would just know who won; it is a bit stressful (at least that is what I am feeling). I have a feeling we won't know right away who won; I hope I am wrong though. I voted last week on Wed.

I feel this way, absolutely.

I feel annoyed by how long this election has been going on, but I don''t want it to end because I''m terrified about how it will turn out. I feel helpless, a little obsessive, and almost out of control. I, too, have a lot invested in this election.

I have so much work to do tonight and tomorrow night- my school schedule shows no sign of letting up -and I feel like I don''t have the time to sit on the internet and watching the news for hours upon hours tomorrow... even though I know that''s what I''ll end up doing. Other than my own state of MA and future state of CA there are a lot of races in the senate and house as well as important ballot initiatives I will be watching out for. There are so many things I feel like I have to juggle right now!

I''m doubting we''ll know much definitively before mid-day Wednesday, so I am trying not to work Tuesday night into an election frenzy just to come out disappointed.

Anyway, I am going to take control by working at the polls tomorrow after class. However..I am also teaching a review session tomorrow night..DURING THE POLL CLOSING!

Which means I will be away from TV during the actual numbers coming in..so FI has been hired to text me constant updates. Other than that I will also be ignoring all exit polls because they are completely and utterly unreliable..in short: they suck.

AHHH, how are you going to live through that?!?! I''d seriously die!

I''ll be glued to it all night, even though it''s probably more detrimental to my mental health than anything else. Good luck with the text updates!

When did I become so insane? Probably about the time when people started being allowed to vote on my rights. I feel so helpless lately. I''ve never been so glad about any decision as I am that we''re already married right now. /rant

I''m really nervous. Voting tomorrow after school. I''m in CA too, and nervous about some of the props--especially Prop 8--Vote NO!

This election is huge.

I know how you feel. I will be voting early tomorrow for Obama, and will be up most of the night to see who won. But a bummer for me as Wednesday I have my Dog Callie scheduled for minor surgery. She has to be there first thing in the morning, and I am not a morning person. I just would love to stay up and sleep in. But need to have this done as we are leaving for a short trip to FLA and want her healed before we leave.

Gypsy, do you have any sick days left?? Or go in late, say you had trouble with your car....
31.gif

I was more nervous a few days ago, oddly enough. Now I''m just ready for it to be over. But if Obama doesn''t win, I don''t know what I''ll do. Probably riot!

My stomach is in knots about this election, and I''m trying to stay focused on studying for a Sociology exam I have tomorrow. (Obviously not very well since I''m surfing ATW atm.) Who puts an exam on election day?!

I wont be able to sleep until I know what happens tomorrow!

Either I''ll open some champagne, or start filling out my Canadian citizenship application.

Why do I feel more confident in Obama''s win than you guys? LOL

Hahaha! I think I love you, lucky!

I don''t know-I just don''t want to jinx it! I don''t think we Dems can take anything for granted after the last couple of elections!

Agreed. I don''t want to count my chickens before they hatch! I think tomorrow is the first day I am happy to be on bedrest because I can just watch the news all day!

i''m a wreck over this too. school tomorrow is going to be brutal, and i''m already planning on leaving early to get home to watch the coverage. we''re having some friends over for a mini-election coverage. i feel like i am constantly on the edge of throwing up! I just pray and hope that there are no huge surprises!

Ditto.

But then again, ya never know...

No kidding.
I don''t know WHAT I''m going to do after Wednesday: I''ve had politics on the TV 24/7 for 20 months now. Through all the primaries....and now the big race....

Tomorrow I''ll be monitoring the news pages all day from work, then home directly to the TVs on 2 channels and the internet via laptop....

Biting nails. Big time.

And I''m a Canadian! I can''t imagine how it feels for those of you who are voting!

LS

Um. All of my profs have given us the day off so we can vote and so I''m going to go to Sephora in the morning so my head doesn''t explode and then be glued to the TV for the rest of the day trying to make my head explode. I had FF pick up some groceries so I can make dinner tomorrow and maybe I''ll chill out a little by cooking.

Seriously. Both FF and I have pits in our stomachs about it. He even talked about drinking to make it through tomorrow. FF DOESN''T DRINK. PERIOD.

I think that unless it''s overwhelming, we won''t know for a few days.

Was nervous, now I''m just hoping. I''m in CA too and am anxious about the propositions.

A lot of us are in school here! There''s just so much due and I''ve been so distracted by every development. School''s going to get so much easier after the 4th.

My professor who owns/developed one of the big polling websites cancelled our stats class tomorrow because he's going to be on ABC election night in NY. He told us he'd email us if he heard anything interesting. I will report back if I hear anything juicy tomorrow...

I am nervous but hopeful.

A big, fat ditto! This election has been killing me academically.

I am anxiety ridden. I can hardly breathe. Literally.

Stressed. Really really stressed. Irritable. Cranky. I don''t do suspense well at all.

Did I mention stressed?

Tell me about it Luckystar! My profs seem almost as distracted as I am but then they don''t have to write papers. Why oh why do I keep checking in this forum instead of writing?

Because I'm sure it's much more interesting than whatever topic you've been assigned to write about.

Thritto! Although I do wonder what will become of us poli sci academia people once the excitement is over. Is there any hope for us, do you think?

PS and about any other website is more interesting than writing my essay at this point, as much as I may love the topic. I''m way too easily distracted to do anything productive right now.

Nervous but also very excited and hopeful. It's been a campaign for the record books. Definitely feels like history in the making.

I'm ready for it to be over so we no longer have to be CNN central at home.

I, too, am hoping that my fellow Californians won't vote to enshrine discrimination in our constitution.

Oh, I''m even nervous!
I don''t envy you guys right now - stressful, exciting and scary times..

Quatritto! ;) Will be a lot easier to study when this is over.

i totally have the same fears/excitement/anxiety. Not just about the General Presidential election, but also about Prop 8 here in CA. It''ll be a huge disappointment for me if it passes.

DH suggested stopping at BevMo for a bottle of champagne so we''ll be ready to celebrate tomorrow eve if it all goes our way, but i''m afraid to jinx it! I know i sound silly and stupid, but i can''t help it.
