SOLD Two old cuts: 0.73ct cushiony OEC and 0.33ct OEC

I am clearing out the last of my hoard so that I can set my new suite of stones. Here are two more gorgeous old cuts.

As you can see in the photos, I think these two stones would make a wonderful drop-style necklace: I would bezel the smaller stone, bezel or halo the larger to exaggerate its cushiony shape, and voila! Pefection. Precedence to a buyer who wants both stones so I can live vicariously.

ETA: How's the girdle on the cushiony .73ct? May affect setting choices for a ring...

The girdle is decent most of the way around. There is one small section that is quite thin -- not sure if knife edge or just thin -- and near there is a very small (only loupe evident) area of roughness. You can see it at about 5:30 on the first photo of both stones together in this thread. I think that it could easily be polished if one was so inclined. The stone is in very good shape for an old cut.

Great, thanks DD. I have a friend looking for something similar to my new Sholdt/OEC for her upcoming 20th. Looks like there a few good preloved options. I sent her all of them, we'll see what draws her in!

I have to learn about diamonds! While I've liked them and always admire them, I don't know the first thing about them, but I sure am drawn to a lot of the old cuts, especially (I think) the old chunky cushions...I may just have to break down and get a diamond some day. And when I do, DreamerD, I hope you're around for counsel!

Both diamonds are now sold.

I have to learn about diamonds! While I've liked them and always admire them, I don't know the first thing about them, but I sure am drawn to a lot of the old cuts, especially (I think) the old chunky cushions...I may just have to break down and get a diamond some day. And when I do, DreamerD, I hope you're around for counsel!
