Thank you to everyone who has helped me so far!! So I think I am going to turn my ring into a 3 stone ring. My center diamond will be .31 ct round, and Im not exactly sure what size to do for the side diamonds but Im thinking pretty close to my center since im looking for a bling factor without replacing my mothers diamond. Ive found a few rings that I like and am looking for others opinion to see if it will give me a more jazzed up look. Its hard to work with smaller diamonds but im trying to get the most out of it with what I have. Also if anyone has a 3 stone ring with smaller diamonds please post it :) Thanks.

I will also be adding another band to the top of my ring that will match my wedding band to try to add a little more to it that way too.

Attached is a pic of my current ring. I still want to do the pave (i think thats what its called) diamonds on the band of the ring too.

And here is a link to what Im hoping my end result will be, what do u guys think? Is it gonna add enough bling to it, or no cuz the side stones will be small?

I love this setting! I think you will definitely get a lot more bling with a three stone with pave. I think I showed you a pic of my small three stone in one of your previous threads, but here is my 1cttw (.5 center, .25 sides). Personally, I wouldn''t do all three of your stones the same size. I would make the sides a little smaller to show some graduation. Maybe do .15-.2 each on the sides? I don''t know what your budget is, but you could also use your mothers .31 as a sidestone and get another matching .3 and use those as sidestones and then get a .5-.6 as your center. That would up the bling too!!!

Thank you so much! I think your right about the side stones. Maybe a .2 would be good. Would .25 be too big nest to the .31??

From your previous thread, your stone is about 4.3mm, a 0.25c will have a diameter of about 4.1mm, that will give a diameter ratio of 95%.

Hmmm, is 95% to much do u think? What size would the side stones be Stone Cold so that it was like 85-90% like the first picture? Thanks for your help. I really have no clue about this kind of stuff :)

I think 95% is too much. There will be little to no differentiation in size from your center. Personally, I would go no larger than .15-.2. You could go into a jeweler and see if they have any studs or anything in this size range and hold it up to your center stone to get an idea.

ya. 85-90% diameter will give a stone diameter of 3.6-3.9mm, so about 0.17-0.22c size.

Thank you so much for your help. And I agree, I will definately stay under .2 ct, just hoping that will still give me the bling. I got engaged and married before all my friends did, they are just catching up now. When I look at their engagement rings they all look WHITE....mostly because they have bigger diamonds. My moms diamond is H color but if i get something with a better color will that look okay next to my moms diamond? And with the 3 diamonds next to eachother they will look more white as a whole? I feel like when i look at my ring all i see is the prongs in between each of my diamonds on my bands, since thats the bulk of my ring, im hoping this will add something a little more to it, and i will see diamonds instead of metal.

This may have been discussed in another thread, but why don''t you turn your current diamond into one of the side stones?

My father and my Husbands feelings would be hurt if i didnt use my moms stone as the "main attraction", and I can understand that. Im ok without having a HUGE diamond, its actually more practical with my lifestyle but I just want to find a way to have comparable bling factor with others.

Is your Mom''s stone graded (come with a cert)? Suspposedly you can go 2 colors in either direction and it should
not be noticable. However, if your Mom''s stone is not AGS/GIA graded then the H color may or may not be
accurate. To me, your best bet is to send the stone to whoever (or is it whomever?) you want to work with
and have them find the side stones that look the best with it. Make sure they send you pictures so you can
see what they have found before you give your OK.

It sounds like you''re set on doing this but I think your current set is gorgeous! It''s blingy AND it highlights your mother''s stone (which does not seem too small to me at all) wonderfully.

I would just be concerned that when you add stones to your engagement ring (stones that are almost as large as your mother''s stone) AND add another eternity band on top of it, that beautiful center stone will be lost in all of that.

Thank you karpouzi! I do like my current setting, but I dont love it. And I want to love it since im gonna wear it every day for the rest of my life.
The jeweler that graded my stone is the same one I would be taking my ring to have them reset it. So hopefully they will be able to help me match it well.
I hope Im doing the right thing, I have a really hard time making decisions, I drive my husband nuts, LOL.
