It''s just stunning!!! Enjoy!!

It is very pretty...I love how dainty the band is.

Hi CK, I hope that it''s OK for me to ask this question (if not please just ignore it) but I was wondering if you could give a hint as to the approximate price of a setting like that. I would really love one like that from Leon, but I''m curious what the expense would be before I would broach the subject of a Leon project with my husband for our anniversary next year.

Thanks!

Hee hee! I know how you feel LisaMarie! It''s worth the wait, hang in there! :)

Hi Vespergirl, no problem.

Leon quoted me $3,000 for the setting and labor with no side stones, and quoted stones at $100 per .1carat, estimating that he''d need from .3 - .5 carat for the sides. It ended up being .41carat, so the entire amount to Leon ended up being $3,410.

Hope that helps!

CK

Beautiful!!!

CK, I think your ring is gorgeous and elegant and I wish both you and your fiance'' the very best of luck.

Now on to Leon....... is he seriously going to charge people for pictures of their piece? especially when everyone else that does custom work freely sends us pictures galore? And no Leon Mege box after you paid the man $3400 of your hard earned money? Can we all collectively smack him? You would think that after what Crooked Rock and Ellen recently experienced with him, that he''d go out of his way to do things the right way. Did he know you were a Pricescoper and you''d be posting your experiences on the board?

If you have a camera with a macro mode, please take some shots of the thing you''re talking about, those little v''s along side each diamond in the mounting. I''m curious about what that looks like.

Wow, what a beauty!

Thanks CK. I''m hoping it will be ready soon.

You''ve got such a beauty there. Do you have any ideas on the wedding band?

Wow!

Wow, it''s beautiful! Congratulations!!!

It is a seriously beautiful ring. I am sorry you were a bit disappointed when you couldn''t meet Leon. I know I would have expected to be allowed to say hello to him.

I adore your ring though. Congratulations!!!

Just from different little snippets I''ve heard about Leon (too busy to greet a paying customer, yelling at paying customer over the phone, etc.) it seems that he has developed quite the ego to match his reputation. Too bad he now actually charges for photos of work he has been commissioned to create. If I paid the prices he charges, I would expect photos before completion so I could let him know whether or not his work was satisfactory to my liking. I would also expect a nice gift box with him name on it (not just for me, but in case I ever wanted to pass the ring down, or sell it on consignment). But I guess Leon is just another temperamental artist.

Your ring is absolutely lovely. It is prettier than the Novo, IMHO; the basket is a more graceful than those oddly thick prongs the Novo sports... and that skinny band is beautiful on your pretty hand.

Also, thank you very very much for posting your Leon experience as well. I'd kinda been thinking of saving to eventually reset something in a Leon, but after reading some of the Leon reviews (you, Ellen, CrookedRock) over the last few months, I'm thinking there are MANY other places I can take my $. It's all well and good when the project turns out OK, but you can *never* tell if something is going to go awry and it's nice to think you can trust a vendor to do the right thing in a case like that. I'm so glad your ring at least turned out beautifully.

Can I just say a massive "what the HECK?" on the cheapie box? I'm sorry but that just is almost an insult to his own work?! Nevermind the lousy impression it makes on customers. Sorry to hear that's what you were given for a high end designer ring.

Well, even if you missed out on the nice ring box... at least you (more importantly) got a STUNNING ring! It''s absolutely gorgeous. Congrats

Congratulations on your new stunning ring :)

Dang!!! That thing is stunning! Congrats!!!

Aw, thank you all for your lovely replies - it''s so lovely to read them, and it does mean a lot! I don''t want to gush over my ring with either work colleagues or friends, because they''d think I was, eh, obsessed and a little insane, but on Pricescope, it''s all good!

I don''t want to come across as too hard on Leon. His work is gorgeous. But it''s not flawless (I think my ring''s head is a teeny tiny bit "off", so that the prongs are a degree to one side, and a teeny bit crooked... going to sleep on it before I contact him), and yes you don''t always get the experience to match the quality of his work - or perhaps your expectations. I just assumed I would get a "hello" this morning, and a nice LM box - of course, it doesn''t matter a jot in the grand scheme of things, as it would just sit empty in my drawer - but it''s more part of the overall experience, and the taste left in one''s mouth. What''s sillier is that I now find myself hesitant to call him up and just ASK him (about the prongs, and the box), because I don''t want to get yelled at - how silly is that?!

I had always assumed that he would also make my wedding band - I would like a platinum eternity band to match my ring - but now I am having second thoughts....

Anyway, I shouldn''t concentrate on the negative at all! The ring is beautiful, and just what I wanted, so I''m a very happy girl!

Will try to take better pics later/tomorrow.

Thank you all again for your lovely compliments! :)

Well, like you said, you are focusing on the overall experience and reflecting on it...the good and the bad. And now that you have the "Leon Mege" experience, you can now make an informed decision about your wring... And being scared to call him, that''s pretty bad intimidation if you ask me...that''s jut not a healthy quality his customers, or future customers should have...

It looks wonderful on you though...

Beautiful and delicate. Very nice; congratulations!

Really silly. One shouldn''t be "affraid" of their jeweler, but I don''t blame you for feeling that way.

Your ring is just stunning CK, really. Love it!

Congrats!!

Your ring looks awesome! When I was designing my ring with LM, it came down to the one I chose and your design. Yours looks so splendid that I''m having doubts now.

I will be receiving mine in the coming weeks. While I am eagerly anticipating that day and I''m sure I''ll love it, I will be very soooo disappointed if this magnificent creation has to be presented in a "cheap-ish black velvet box with a "made in china" sticker on the bottom"! Tack on another 50 bucks onto the 3-4k I already spent if you have to. This shouldn''t even be a concern when buying an ER.

Congrats anyway, it looks great!
