Some questions about James Allen

Hello, this is my first post in this forum but I have been reading for some weeks. First, sorry for my English, I’m from Spain and my English is not very good.

I have learned a lot of things reading this forum and I think I will buy an engagement ring online (I’m going to propose marriage as soon as possible…).

I have been searching in some online shops (whiteflash, bluenile, JA) but I think I will buy at JamesAllen.com. I really love the rings on this web and also I have read very good reviews.

Ok, that was the presentation, here we go with the questions… :

-Because this is an international transaction, I have to pay some taxes. James Allen uses Fedex so where and when I have to pay this taxes? Will Fedex call me for that? (I have read some post about this but I’m not sure, sorry if is already answered…)

-I''m a little afraid to buy an engagement ring online, there is a danger of loss or some other kind of danger?

-I am also scared of the size of the ring. What is the best way to measure it? My girlfriend doesn’t know that I will buy, but I have another ring, even I can measure her finger…

Something more that I have to know to buy an engagement ring online? This is very important for me, so I want to do well.

(I have read some post about this but I’m not sure, sorry if is already answered…) I think it depends on your country but I believe generally Fedex will call you once the package is ready to release when it arrives in the country so you can pay customs. Alternatively I think you can also pay it on pickup or delivery but check with JA as to what is appropriate in your case.

-I'm a little afraid to buy an engagement ring online, there is a danger of loss or some other kind of danger? Rarely loss happens such as theft from the package but this is very unusual, in the very few cases I have seen in my years here, the vendors have gone out of their way to make it right.

-I am also scared of the size of the ring. What is the best way to measure it? My girlfriend doesn’t know that I will buy, but I have another ring, even I can measure her finger… If you can get the size of a ring that you know fits her finger that would be the best way, if you aren't sure get a plain solitaire setting that can be resized up or down as needed.

Really thanks for your answer, and also because I''m much calmer now about buying online... So, this nigth I will measure my girlfriend finger and tomorrow I will post some diamonds that I have in mind.
