Something to go over my dress...

The dress:

I was originally going to wear fur, but FI doesn''t like it and I''m really not fond of promoting the fur industry.

So I want something more fun and colorful. Here is the etsy garment I''m looking into...only an edited version that I''ll post in a minute (ghetto photoshop job coming up...)

So what I''m asking for help on is color. I have no idea what color to put with it, so I collected a whole bunch of blue/teal items from my house and took pictures of them with my dress. Ribbons, shoes, pillows, a shirt, the swatches she sent for the fabrics, my gemstones that I''m going to be wearing...

Note: the colors are a bit more faded in this picture than in real life. The Keedens are a vibrant cobalt blue IRL. And the rest is washed out at least by a little bit.

Ok. Another pic. This is with the shoes. The middle pair will be worn under the dress after the ceremony. And it''s more teal than the pictures would show...

Of the swatches, I like the one on the right in the middle row--I think it''s a lovely color and would go well with the dress. Which we still need to see on you (hint, hint).

The problem with that swatch in person is that it''s far more green than it shows. It is just about the same color as the bottom left swatch, only has a slight purple sheen to it. So I think that one is out, just because it''s more green than blue, and you guys know me!

And I haven''t attempted getting into it in a while....

Thanks Pisln. I like that one a lot too. No matter what I pick, no one can accuse me of being a wallflower huh? My original idea was something close to the Keedens in a deep cobalt kind of color. But I like teal too...

Meh.

I really want to love the Kate Spades, but I don''t. My eye is drawn to the blues with just a hint of green. So I''ll have to put my vote in for the swatch that is top, middle.

I like the Teal Satin or the Peacock Blue silk taffeta, with a preference for the first one.

I think the other colors either the texture or the color will be overwhelming/will "argue" with the dress - the dress itself is so lovely that I think one of the two above will be the best choice.

Are you going to be wearing the garment for everything? Or just in when outside? The ceremony? And, is it going to be all one color, then? Sorry for all the questions, but I am trying to figure out what I like best, because I like several of these colors and am generally having a little difficulty figuring out what I like best.

Lol! I know...BUT you''ll be happy to know that I''m only covering up the dress for AFTER the ceremony. It''s pretty much so I don''t totally freeze to death outside.

It will be all one color.

I still have no idea what I like best. One minute I like a subdued teal, next minute I like cobalt, then I''m going for an icy blue and then I''m thinking a bright peacock teal color! Ugh...

I think the teal will go best with your shoes, though it''s hard to tell exactly from the photos. It sounds like that''s the one you like best so far -- if so, go for it, it''s going to look fab!!

I would vote for teal silk but you say its really green in person. Which then leads me to say sapphire taffeta.

The swatches have really already been ruled out. The ones I like the most are the middle middle and the top middle. I think it''s because they are the most blue. So I''m leaning towards having her find something else that''s more in the blue family than in the green. Problem with the middle middle swatch is that it feels to gray, and the sapphire (top middle) is too dark. Soooo....yeah.

I like the top right fabric above the pillow, although they would all look lovely. I'm partial to that color blue, though!!! That color is going to be the BM dresses color.
Any color you pick would look awesome Freke.

A plushy velvet (perhaps in a darker grey?) would look so beautiful with that dress. BTW, dress is unbelievably gorgeous. I''m not a wedding person but I''d say it''s worth going through a ceremony!
