Miranda, Deelight, VRBeauty, Kaleigh, Strmrdr (borg! hah, so true), Princess, Pjean - Thanks for the support! You guys rock! Here's to hoping the economy picks up for everyone.

Art Nouveau - I've been at this company for 8 years and haven't really moved for fear of going to some other company that wouldn't have the money to withstand layoffs. I came here after getting laid off from one of the many dot coms I'd worked for that went under when the bubble burst. So I planned on staying for a long time. Well no company is immune right now which is a scary thing considering how big of a company it is. Get this, my group is still hiring. Crazy huh?

DF - Yahoo is so cheap right now too! Ballmer is still sticking to his 'we're not buying Yahoo' position. I read in the news that he and the CEO of Yahoo had lunch last week. I guess they're talking search partnership?

Wishful - It would be nice if we both could have been 'lifer's' at this company... we could still be, but sometimes it's good to look around too.

MZ - I hope you don't mean *STV, cause that's where I know people that were laid off. But I assume no. I'm sure you know where (location wise) I work after reading my posts.

That reminds me of a friend I met years ago. He'd randomly added me on myspace in the early myspace days. He had a scary photo. No clue who he was so I dropped him off my friends list. Then one day I'm walking through the cafeteria and he calls out to me telling me he's the guy from myspace. I wigged out! He'd gotten a job there totally randomly as well. We're great friends now.

HUGS, huge hugs honey. It's terrifying. And so grim. I'm sorry. I'm thinking of you. Happy your still there this round though.

So happy to hear you were spared. Go ahead and live like you are broke now... make sure that cushion is nice and secure... just in case....

But, my motto is "Well they are gonna $hit can/ "layoff" you whether you worry or not... so why worry?" Worrying when you have a job FEARING A LAY OFF, is still a better place to be than being ACTUALLY LAID OFF.

I really do wish you and your family the best... and feel for those friends of yours that were let go...here''s a little "Dust" that you''ll keep your position, a little "Dust" that your friends will find new ones... and a little "Dust" that things soon turn around EVERYWHERE....

************DUST, DUST, DUST*********************

Glad you were spared! That must have been really stressful, I am sorry to hear you are having to deal with that. Sending dust your way for the next 18 months!

Well wishing DUST to Violet and others out there experiencing uncertainties......

I am so happy you were spared today...and I hope you will continue to be so in the coming months....

Hey Violet, thank god you were spared. I was thinking about you on Thursday. I hope it all works out, layoffs are so scary. I''ve never been through layoffs before but when my office had them about a month ago, even though I wasn''t getting laid off, it was so sad seeing my coworkers go through that. Good luck to you. We all have to hang in there over the next year or so.

I am glad you were spared. I heard that on the news and I just feel awful for those people.
