Spill who got what at Finewater's CLOSEOUT sale??

I tried for 6 different stones and only 1 was available and that was all within 15 minutes of the email going out!!!!

I **think** I got the 3.00ct (peachy???) tourmaline, but I really wanted the 3.06ct rhodolite, the 3.35 rhodolite or the 3.08 red spess!! oh the heartbreak over those 3!!!! And the violet spinel would have been nice too!
 
Not me! I wanted the same stones as you SB but I'm over a day late to the party
 
I wanted the big round chryso it I got the 2ct oval chryso
 
I loved the violet spinel but I can't buy anymore stones until after the holidays ;(
 
Such terrible timing for me too...I missed the email until it had been out for a little bit, so most of the gems were gone, but I did nab one of the garnets. I'd have LOVED to get one of the rhodolites, the round chryso or 3rd chryso, the opal, or the spinel.

BUT, I got (at least I think I got) the #6 color change garnet, approx 3 cts. I am quite curious to see what color it changes to, lol!! It will be a fun surprise and for such a finely cut cc garnet, the price was incredible. That was an unexpected and fun buy. Gary is one of my favorite people to buy from, too.
 
I got a zircon. I hope I made a okay choice. The first one I wanted was gone. I want something the color of a citrine but with more sparkle and figured for $40 I couldn't go wrong. So I got the long banana colored one and I'm hoping it looks okay in person.

Well color change stones are always fun and for the price you can't go wrong. I think this was a good sale to experiment a little bit because of the prices.
 
They were all amazingly priced. It looks like he just updated his site so only 2 are still available. Everything else is marked sold!

Well color change stones are always fun and for the price you can't go wrong. I think this was a good sale to experiment a little bit because of the prices.

I completely agree - these were gems that frankly all looked wonderful to me at those prices. Definitely worth experimenting for such a low cost.

I never got the email. I can't believe I missed this. I've been so good about budgeting for Xmas that I haven't bought any stones, but I could have bought at these low prices. Shoot!!!

By the time I had the time to check out the link, everything was sold! Please post what you purchased (or was lucky enough to nab). :))
 
I didn't see the email until the larder was bare, grrr. Tried for a chryso that wasn't marked as sold, but it had gone too. Who got what? Come across, folks!!

I just tried going back to grab the picture of what I think I got and the page is already taken down! I didn't bother to even save the professional picture as tthere were 4-6 stones lined up in every shot, not individual glamour shots.

I still want to know who got those garnets!!!! Oh the agony!
 
Yeah, I thought about buying a pile, but while I hemmed and hawed, they all got sold - almost grabbed that same one, katharath, I can't wait to hear your thoughts on it! I did snag the round yellow zircon. :D

That was the first one I tried to get. It didn't say sold at first but when I tried to check out it was gone already.

What a fun sale it was though! Ebay prices.
 
I did manage to snap up the violet spinel, but I really wanted that red spess! It was the first stone I tried for, but then of course I couldn't remember my PayPal password. By the time I reset, it was gone. :( Please 'fess up if a PS'er bought it! And share a few pics, of course!

It looks like there were many lovely stones and hugely good bargains to be had! My email from Gary was incinerated by my email system so I didn't even know about it until SB started this thread. But congrats to all of you who scored such amazing deals and pretties!
 
Oh, and also, so relieved that it was not what I thought when I read the title of this thread - that Gary was going out of business!

It really was a crazy fun sale. I wish I could've scored about five more gems, lol. But I feel lucky to have the one I'm getting. It's so rare for me to get anything over one carat and the cc garnet I'm getting is three carats...I feel a bit giddy with excitement. Mine is #6, the oval, next to the green grossular which I also wouldn't have minded to pick up...

I wonder what color it shifts too? Is it a malaya? Curious to see.
