Did you get yours? I got mine. It's pretty but has half shady half bright issues. The color looks just like the photo and will make a nice pendant. I haven't had a chance to see it outdoors yet though or in bright light. I will post a photo when I find my camera. It's zircon number 19.

Ugh no! I had 2 day shipping but we had a pretty big ice storm today and I didn't get it.

Same for me - mine should've arrived today but didn't. I am in Vegas - the PO has no weather excuse for why my package wasn't delivered. It got into town yesterday but hasn't arrived to me yet - slow shipping due to holidays. Bleh. I was so excited thinking it would get here today! Guess I'll have something fun to look forward to tomorrow.

I didn't get mine yet.

However I did realize that the lavendar spinel I bought last year and returned it!!!!!!! It was too light for the color I was going for (with more of a bluish hue). Anyhow I'm not sure how I forgot about that I'm getting old!

Anyhow Bunny I think you will love it. I would have kept it but it wasn't my holy grail lavendar.

Oh its better than expected.

Ive never had a stone this big for one, so it looks nice and large to my eyes. the cut is very nice too. The color is also better than expected. Most always green, though in a few lights around my house gets sort of mustardy. The green is somewhere between a moss and a chartreuse, which you know i love.

Its a blustery day here, so lighting is terrible. No sunshine. but heres the best i could do with my old phone.

I got the opal, which is lovely. It's a nice size and shape. It always has a bit of flash, but I think it gets a little lost on my skin tone. It looks better against something darker. Any suggestions for ways to set it to minimize this issue? I was thinking of a pendant.

I would set it in a colored stone halo. Maybe purple? So it sits next to a darker color.

Good suggestion, Niel. It's a lovely opal & a dark halo would bring it out. Your stone, Niel, is so pretty -- I love that greenish-yellowish-chartreuse color -- and the glow.

Really gorgeous opal - love the shape/cut! If it were me, I'd go minimalist, just bezel it in 18kt Yellow Gold with a surround or on a base of dark oxidized Sterling Silver, maybe suspended from a small but bright colored stone (peridot or demantoid?) also bezelled...?

It's really nice. Blacken the back of the bezel setting. A lot of jewelers do it.

Ok I got #8 which is the 3ct tourmaline. In the picture it looked like a pinky/ peachy/ brown undertone tourmaline.

Well it came and it is a rhod. garnet color. Deep red/ purple. Nothing at all like the picture....not even close The cut and size is beautiful though.

With the close out sale it is not returnable. I think I will keep it because it is very pretty, I just really wasn't expecting that color...or really anything even in that range. But $75 was a great deal for 3cts. Here is a quick indoor picture so you don't see the purple and red as much. It is pretty spot on in RL for a traditional Rhod. Garnet. I think I'm going to do an a la LTP with a LOGR bagette setting.

What is it like in different lighting conditions? I got a weird one too. It has half and half extinction and is the color of a banana peel. But it's a nice size and cut otherwise. I have found it looks very nice in dim light and under fluorescent lighting. Interesting stone. Mine will be a simple pendant.
