Jypsie, you are using the macro mode on your camera, I presume?

I''m sure it''s a stupid question - but if it happens that you aren''t, that would be something worth trying. Different lenses, if you have them, might be good, too.

I am, I do not have a great camera - it''s a Nikon S550. Nothing fancy - we actually use it mostly for the non-profit to take pictures of the animals that we take in to document wounds, etc prior to surgery and vet care for our files.

Here is Dan''s picture.

I really want to try to get a picture of it in the sun though, because the color is a bit different - I think it''s a bit more on the ocean-blue side than this picture shows. This shows a bit of greyishness to the stone, I don''t pick up any grey in the stone at all, outside, it actually really comes to life, it has this wonderful sea-blue color and really POPS! God, I wish I could capture it - I also wish I could make it grow to the size of the spess just for picture purposes, this way you could see what I mean when I say, it''s like you could reach inside and feel like you are going to touch water.

This one is my "Parker stone" - we have a special needs pup that is our water boy - he has absolutely NO idea that he is sick, but he LOVES water!! We keep an eye on him with everything he does, and because he loves swimming so much, this one reminds me of him - so I''ve nicknamed it "The Parker Stone" - I''ll figure out what to do with it eventually.... of course this thread will be the second to know, after me :-)

And for reference - here''s a picture of the waterboy, taking a break at the park, telling stories to all the other doggies about his adventures at the ocean down the street from where we live.

He is such a ham - can''t you tell?

And this is his personal "guard dog" Rascal - he''s 3 years younger than Parker and the family clown, but if Parker is in trouble, Rascal is all business and he protects him from Lacy and Maximus to other 2 rescues in the house. Rascal sleeps next to Parker, and is near Parker 24/7 - since the day Rascal showed up, he''s been at Parker''s side non-stop. I do not know what it is about Parker that attracted Rascal, but he knew he was needed, so even though he showed up as a foster about a year ago, he stayed as a family member shortly after.

Sorry for the tangent - I thought some cuteness was appropriate to show how good the camera can be :-)
