I finally had time to get this post together following my auction wins a few weeks back! The Tiffany will come separately, but starting with these two beauties for now.

For background, these two Art Nouveau settings were sold as a lot, and I couldn’t resist their darling nature elements. They are both so detailed and just…charming! The navette has a stunning flower design, and the round setting features the sweetest butterflies. They both have teeny diamonds throughout for a little extra whimsy.

Now, what am I doing with them? That’s the big question… I’m not sure if I will keep them or sell them - because if I’m being honest I didn’t really NEED two more projects and have also been on a buying spree as of late haha. I’m still also after my big dream OMC which should be my main priority…if I didn’t keep getting distracted!!

The bezel settings measure approximately 7.00 x 7.50 mm to 7.50 x 8.00 mm. I’m honestly not a big colored stone kind of gal, and would lean toward OECs for the centers, but I could also envision these shining with some beautiful pastel stones - light blues, purples, greens, pinks, yellows, etc.

Here are some photos and videos - would love any thoughts!

Butterflies

My heart just did somersaults! All are stunning. Beautiful Butterfly is my dream ring! I agree … why burden yourself with extra projects? Focus on Miss Tiffany and I will ease your project load and give Butterfly a new home!

Both beautiful. Did you come across them or deliberately seek them out? I have tried searching for settings in the past and haven't had much luck.

I say… just tuck these away for a rainy day. They are gorgeous settings and you got them for a steal! They don’t make pieces like this anymore and the are too special to let go!

I’m seeing a pink padparascha sapphire in the flower one though  … and well, you know I’m team light blue aquamarine for Mrs T.

Ok, scrolling back up to admire…. Ahhhh, you absolutely hit the setting jackpot that day… ❤️

These are really special. Thanks for sharing!

Ha, you are probably right! I will definitely keep you top of mind if I decide to release - and trying to decide asap. I really don’t need quite so many rings, as much as I loooove them.

I would pop a custom cut moonstone in one and an opal or something in the other just to wear and enjoy.

Thank you for the suggestion! Do you know of anyone who can do a small project like this? I was even wondering who I could use to simply swap stones into different settings. I would love someone who is used to handling antique or high end pieces, but I always feel weird asking for such a small job to be done!!

I was bidding on an antique Tiffany setting, and these two were a lot in the same auction. They were an impulse bid that I accidentally won.

Pretty sure DK can. Could source the stones too I bet.

Thank you. I appreciate your consideration!

They are really gorgeous! Congrats and if you do decide to release at least you know one will go to a PSer (jean). Lovely and can't wait to see the Tiffany!

Those are going to be pretty as a picture CS rings  Gumdrop dreams.

There are no words. I am so in awe of these. I am both so jealous and happy for you!

Oh I love them both but that flower one ............it's exquisite!

Ohhh, I definitely have stones to fit those, lovely.

OMG I've been waiting for these, how did I miss this for 4 whole days?

They are so special! Settings like these don't come around often. I tried to find an antique setting for one of my stones recently and nothing came even close to these. I wonder what their story is, why were the original stones removed?

I'm on team butterfly 1000%! I fell in love when I first saw it and it's just as beautiful as I expected. I would throw my name in the hat too but I'm not supposed to be buying anything either. Both my stones have settings now, but it kills me that these are the right size too! I say let us live the fantasy through you and let us find you a bargain OEC or two.

Thank you all for the feedback! I also thought they were super unique when I saw them and also wonder about their origin!! This is unrelated to the original owner, but an interesting origin story nonetheless - the auction was for the collection of a philanthropist who had an incredible amount of antiques and art and jewelry. They did something like 15 separate auctions to get through everything, and the proceeds went to charities close to the family’s heart. She obviously had impeccable taste - the antique Tiffany setting was from the same collection. :kiss2:

Another question - at least one, if not both, of these settings would need a touch up done to the bezel when a stone is set. Would you have them polished up as well, or leave them as is? I personally wouldn’t polish yellow gold with a patina, but not sure if I feel the same about platinum.

I’m no help in giving advise about touch ups ,but these rings would be gorgeous (sigh) even if you dipped them in cake batter. I agree , FWIW, with not polishing gold that has developed a patina.
Can’t wait to see your Tiffany !

Love the settings and love your nails!

I inherited my gran's art deco wedding ring (hexagonal in shape with engraved blossoms). I had it resized and polished - and the shine was beautiful. It was a very 'soft' shine. If I could I would have it polished again but the engraving must be 100 years old now and I don't want to ruin it. So I would be in Team Polish, even if just the once.
