Ya think???

It weighs alot but not as sizeable as one might think when compared to other garnets or spinels since spessie specific gravity (density) is high... like sapphires. But I def love the glow.

Thanks SS. Wow, that’s a good sized spessartite! I''ve heard that having microscopic inclusions bounces the light back differently, giving the stone a slight soft glow.

Awww shucks thanks Linda W, Cind11, stepcutnut, cinnamon013, icekid, loriken214,Arcadian, TravelingGal for taking the time to comment! Hope you like the barrage of pics I just posted :)

I just love when you see a picture of a dull background, whether it''s skin, dirt, a grey card, and then this vivid color comes off of it. It looks almost 3D.

I think there''s a solar flare coming off the bottom of your stone in that picture!

here is a picture that I just really find neat... if you look closely at where the tip of the trillion indents into the tip of my finger... it almost looks like its illuminating my finger!!

I hope that didn''t burn your finger either!! LOL!! You''re killing me with these pics, they''re so gorgeous, I can''t stand it anymore. I think I''m going to turn into a puddle of saliva.

Remind me to put on my nuclear blast protection glasses next time I view your spessartites. I think I just blew a retina looking at that pic, not to mention my rapid pacing heart!!

Those are breathtaking! Thank you so much for sharing!!

Thank you for posting the additional photos. Love your photos, they really show off your stones. Both oranges are great!

Wow, what an awesome color!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Chrono - I stand corrected. Looks like all garnets are type II stones. I got that from a site that was trying to sell a more included garnet, I should have known better and checked before posting. However, according to Pala gems, the stones from Nambia tend to be more included than other varieties, but the inclusions may help contribute to that wild glow.

SS - I love the new photos.

brandy_z28 Stone Hunter princessplease thanks for looking! More coming I promise :)

LtlFirecracker,

Thanks for the clarification. I could have sworn that garnets were Type II but I too read that Type III designation being assigned to the namibian spessies.
