Hello all,

Being canadian, i've noticed that information
regarding good jewellers in our country is difficult to find.
Why not in this thread start including all information
to help new buyers ???? Help from
people from different provinces wil be "a plus".

Trichrome, great idea!

Where are you from?

Agree. I live in Toronto. It's ugly. I've been searching for a diamond for over 1 week.
I'm considering heading to NY to make the purchase. No one here in Toronto is willing to give you cut specs etc. I called Gem Scan and tried to get an understanding of their grading system. As with GIA, they do not supply cut details.

Try this place they are located on the Danforth near Pape...

It is a small little store but when I went in I was made to feel very comfortable.

Good Luck...

is in Thornhill, ON. He should give you all the info on cut.[/u]

Hello,

I'm from Montreal, Quebec.
Stones from Birks carry a GIA certificate only if they are
over 1 carat. Under that, it's an inhouse certificate. Also,
I've checked the price there and it can be at least
twice the price you'll find on the net. Also, there are only
2 Sarin machines in the city and it's very difficult to have
a report here, but it's possible.
Bijouterie Italienne looks fine and have great prices. They are
the only one to carry the Ekati diamonds in Quebec but you
will pay a lot for it! They can design your ring if you want.
I've never bought there since i think i can find cheaper
for the same stone somewhere else.
