I am that way, too! Are you sure we''re not twins?? :) I hate to wait for something once I''ve decided on it.

Yes, we''d be using some wedding money to get the BevK band because they want it all up front. If we could pay in installments, that''s one thing, but to fork over the whole bill in the beginning, well....

I have not, but my FI has spoken to Brad and was kind of turned off. I guess the few times they spoke, Brad was busy and either cut the conversations short or said he''d call later and then didn''t. Maybe Brad feels we''re jerking him around by not making a decision right away and/or he doesn''t have time to keep chatting about the ring. I might try calling him myself.

Brad said he''d gaurantee that our ring would look exactly like the one in the picture (I sent him a few pictures of your ring), but it''s still hard to fully trust (not just him, but the situation). I''m about 98% ready to take the leap of faith, but that 2% is totally holding me back. I think if we had a better return policy I''d be okay with it.

My FI is at home right now, going over some things and we said we''d make a decision tonight and stick with it, once and for all. I''ll hate not having a ring for the ceremony, but what I''d hate more is having a ring we got for the ceremoney that I''m not happy with.

haha! we could be twins. :) i saw that you love memoire settings too, which is what i have. you have great taste!

hmm...that''s too bad that Brad wasn''t more attentive to you guys. maybe if you talked to him and explained your questions/concerns you might feel better about possibly going with him?

i really think that if you do end up going with him you won''t be disappointed. i can post more pictures of my ring tonight if you''d like? any particular shots you want?

Gray, I don''t know if this will help you at all in feeling more comfortable, but as a maker of custom rings, I can tell you that Brad''s return policy doesn''t seem unreasonable at all.

When you work with *anyone* on a custom piece, be it a local jeweler or online jeweler, it''s typically not refundable. That''s the nature of custom; you''re having something built to fit your tastes and there''s no guarantee that it would be easy to move it if you decide to change your mind.

Most custom ring makers are willing to work with you to tweak minor things within reason if that''s what needs to happen for you to be happy as long as they are able to, and I can''t imagine any successful vendor wouldn''t. Brad appears to be saying he''ll guarantee the ring will look like the photo, and if he''s willing to put that in writing and outline what your remedies will be, that should provide the comfort you need.

Beyond that, no one else can really give you peace of mind. If you decide to go custom to save a bit of money, it''s going to require a leap of faith, as you say. The best you can do is to select a vendor that has a solid reputation for customer service and good custom work that you feel comfortable working with.

If you can''t both comfortably get behind that, it may be worth the extra premium to go with the Beverly K option. Yes, it''s considerably more expensive, but then again, it also offers peace of mind up front in letting you see the finished product without being committed to it.

OMG! I LOVE memoire. When we went to Pearlman''s, I completely fell in love with one of the purity settings. We met with Bill Pearlman that day and he let us take three rings home with us for the weekend. I''m sure my fiance hates Bill now though, because taking them home with me and spending all that time looking at them is how I fell in love with the way the Beverley K band and the memoire purity band looked together, and since then I''ve decided that I want to get those two bands to wear with my ering. So my fiance is all "What the heck??? Two rings?!?!?! Who gets two rings?!?!!"

So your band is 3mm? My fiance and I had a talk last night and we''ve decided to go through Brad and get the ring like yours. I am SO excited about! Now I just have to decide if I want the 3mm with 1.30ctw or the 2.5mm with .90tcw. I have no idea how to picture either of them or what they''ll look like. I know if I''m going to have two bands at some point, I should probably go with the 2.5mm, but my ering band is just over 3mm, so I thought the 3mm eternity ring would look great with it and wouldn''t get lost. What do you think, v!v!? 2.5mm or 3mm? Is there much difference? I''m a very visual person and I need to see things in person to make a decision (part of why this online purchasing is so hard). Even when you show me pictures here at pricescope, it''s so hard for me to tell how big/small something will actually be.

Thanks for the advice Allison D! I get what you''re saying about not being able to return a custome piece. But then how come Brad told v!v!''s husband he could return it? Also, I don''t mind not being able to return it. But I''m not sure about not seeing it until it''s complete, you know? Also, if there were some minor things that needed to be tweaked after the wedding, would he still do that? Those are the things we are uncertain about. We get not being able to return a custom piece.

Can anyone give me an idea of the difference between a 2.5mm and a 3mm wedding band (alternating rounds/baguettes bezel set). My ering band is just over 3mm.

Thanks!!

Oh my goodness... i think we are twins! haha... I wanted two rings too (haven''t gotten it yet, but it will happen) and my husband was just like your fiance! too funny! i want to get the matching memoire eternity band that goes with my engagement ring. we just bought a house though and we haven''t rented our other place out yet, so the double mortgage is kind of putting a hamper on me getting that ring anytime soon.

so yes, my band is 3mm but honestly i kind of wished that i had gone with the 2.5mm because of how delicate my ering is. but i love it anyway and i''m not sure the .5 would really make too much of a difference. i would love to see a 2.5mm and a 3mm right next to each other though. i''m hoping someone can post the difference for you.

i''m so excited that you''ve decided to go with the ring. i can''t wait for you to get it and you''ll have to post your experience and pictures!! :)

Yes, your ering band is a lot thinner and more delicate than mine. Mine is just white gold, but it''s wider and flat. That''s why I don''t know about going with the 2.5mm or 3mm.

I JUST DON''T KNOW WHICH TO GET!!! UGH!!! Did you ever think there''d be a time when you would fret over half a milimeter??!?!? Ridiculous.

If I''m getting a second band at some point in the future, do you think I should go with the 2.5mm .90ctw or the 3mm 1.30ctw?

I don''t want the wedding band to be too big, but I don''t want the band to get lost with my ering (1.01 asscher) either. I just hate not being able to see them. I think I''d really like the 3mm, but it''s about $400 more and as with everyone, money is tight. I just don''t want to spend the extra if I don''t have to. But it''s such a good deal, I think.

Will the stones sparkle in a 2.5mm .90tcw band? how much bigger will the stones be in the 3mm band?

well, if it were me i would go with the 2.5mm, especially since you''ll be adding an additional ring at some point.

i''m pretty sure the stones will still sparkle in the 2.5mm band but i can''t answer your question about how much bigger the stones will be in the 3mm. i''d ask brad, maybe he has some pictures for comparison or something??

LOL!! I guess we''re not twins, v!v! :)
I sent an email to Brad and put a check in the mailbox and we went with the 3mm. I am still going back and forth and I guess we have time to change it since he won''t start working on it until he receives the deposit. I love the 3mm but know I''d be okay with the 2.5mm (I think). I guess since I can''t really see it and don''t know how small/big the stones will be, I''d rather go with the one I have seen - yours!

I actually cut out strips of paper in 2.5mm and 3mm widths and wrapped them around my finger to try and see what it''d be like size-wise. Am I ridiculous or what?!?!? I was wondering if the 3mm would be too big to have a thinner (2mm or so) band with it when we add our second band, and I didn''t think it would be. I mean, there are lots of sets on here with different width bands.

I have a fake round/princess bezel eternity band I bought on overstock.com to see if I''d like the style and it''s 3mm and I know I like that size, so that''s why I ended up going with 3mm. The CZs in that ring are obviously horrible quality so I know the real ones in the band from Brad will look much better.

But now that you''ve said you''d go with 2.5, I''m rethinking myself. I just hope I made the right decision.

haha! don''t rethink things! i love my 3mm ring and you will too!

before i got engaged i totally did something similar to you cutting out the strips of paper but instead of paper i just cut out the different carat sizes of diamonds and placed them on the middle of my finger to see which would look best. haha. :)

I DID TOO!!!! I found a webpage that showed the actual size of all the different cuts at different carat weights (.5, .75, 1, etc) and I cut them out and placed them on my ring finger. We are awesome!!!

I know I''ll love it. I am just nervous. I know the 3mm will look good with the thinner (2mm - 2.5mm) memoire purity band I''m going to get. The different widths will look good together....Right??

Have a great weekend and thanks so much for helping me out and putting up with my neurotic tendancies :) I appreciate it very much!

That''s so funny that you did the same thing. We might not be twins, but we could be related. haha.

Personally, I love the look of the different widths paired together so I don''t think you have anything to worry about.

Glad I could be of some help. You have a great weekend too!

Heard from Brad yesterday and he has started work on my ring!!!!
I just hope we get it in time. My fiance didn''t want to send the last payment until we got word it was done, but then our check might not get there in time. We may have to send it early.

Anyway, I am SUPER excited!!!!!!!!!!!

Yay!

Yay indeed! :) Now if only I were this excited about my dress....

Eh. Don''t sweat it. You only wear the dress for one day. You wear the ring every day.
1.gif

I know, I know. But when I LOVE the front of the dress but HATE the back, it''s hard to deal with. I know I only wear it one day, and in the end it''s not what matters, but I still want to look my best :)

What''s wrong with the back?

It''s got a corset lace up back and it was being pulled too tight in order to keep the front/chest area snug. I wanted to loosen the back, then bring in the front, but the seamstress said she couldn''t (for various reasons that DO make sense, just not what I wanted to hear). Finally, last night, we came up with a solution that will make me happy, as long as it works out. We''ll know on Monday!

I''m just so excited - can''t believe I''m going to be married (and have my awesome wedding band) in 2.5 weeks! CRAZY!!!!

Okay, I''ll stop chatting about the wedding now. People don''t need that - they want jewelry speak! :)

It''ll be great, you will be beautiful, the dress will be beautiful, the rings will be beautiful - it''ll all rock.

Just wanted to say that my wedding band is done, shipping today and will be here tomorrow!!! Brad says it''s beautiful, but I''ll have to see it for myself in person :) I can''t wait!!!!!!!!!!!

Hooray!! Can''t wait to see it on your hand!

Me too! Me too!

Hi ladies!! Thanks for inquiring about my band. I am just back to work today after almost three weeks off for the wedding and honeymoon (I worked only one day from 12/25 through today). The wedding was beautiful and amazing. It turned out better than we could''ve ever hoped for. The honeymoon in Mexico was awesome - hot, sunny and relaxing! It totally sucks to be back in cold, snowy Michigan.

As for the wedding band, it''s beautiful!!!!!!!! I absolutely love it and it''s exactly what I wanted. We still need to get in touch with Brad regarding the certification (we haven''t received one), but it''s absolutely gorgeous. The sizing is a bit weird, though. I ordered an 8.5 (I have big fingers) which is the same as my engagement ring. However, the band is tighter than my e-ring. When my fingers are swollen or in the summer, I''m afraid it''ll be too tight. Today, my fingers are cold and shrunken, so it''s not so tight. Not sure if there''s anything they can do about it.

There is one baguette on the ring that looks quite dark and the bezel around it is crooked, or maybe uneven is a better word. It''s not straight across like the others, so I''m a bit concerned about that. Did you find that some of your baguettes looked darker than you thought they would? I''m just a little worried that our stones aren''t the best and since we don''t have the certification for the ring...

And v!v!, I have to tell you, at first I kind of wish I''d gotten a 2.5mm band!!! Can you believe that??? After going back and forth and finally settling on the 3mm. I think at first it just seemed huge, but I''ve gotten used to it and love it!!! I think it''ll look great with the second band I''m going to get in the near future. I love the memoire purity band, and think it would look great with my wedding band, even with the memoire band being much thinner.

*Bump* Just wanting v!v! and geckodani to see this thread :)

I''m glad you''re happy with your ring! It could be larger mm size that is making it feel tighter - I hope it works out in the summer! Right now with our sub zero insanity in MI that shouldn''t be a problem.

Hi GrayC25,

I am so glad you love the wedding band and that it was exactly what you wanted. Whew! I was worried there for a bit. :) I''m glad that you are happy with the 3mm too. You''ll have to post pictures of it with your engagement ring when you can!

I''m sorry to hear about the dark baguette and that the bezel is uneven. Every once in awhile I catch a baguette in a weird light and it will look a little dark, but when I put it under direct light it looks icy white and sparkly.

So did you end up loving your dress on your wedding day? Hope everything went perfectly and that you had a relaxing honeymoon!
