So I'm sure you guys know about my quest for a chrysoberyl - and it's still on-going, but I'm starting to consider a green sapphire that has been on my list from the start. It doesn't have the same green-yellow shade as a chrysoberyl, but it's a beautiful (from photos) green with a shape, size and cut that I really like. it's actually the perfect stone - except that I could do with a bit more yellow.

I'm a little swayed to it after discussing with with a close aunt (who's also pretty fashionable and knows what goes with my coloring), and she says that the green sapphire has a more enduring look, and would contrast very well with a diamond halo (which I want, but worried would distract from a neon chryso).

What do you think about the stone? I'm a pretty fair asian, and I think this might work as a good contrast to my skin. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=8HXrWRpdGE8&feature=youtu.be

I've already contacted the seller about the stone - and I'd like your opinion on it. I'm not giving up on the chrysoberyl, but this sapphire is almost too perfect for me to overlook it!

Also, about a setting: JD does settings but he's just told me he doesn't do CAD, and that makes me a little worried.. I've been talking to ME of gemshoppe and he's the most lovely person ever, and so prompt with replies, and he does do CAD, and I really would like to go with him but the problem is: I'm in Singapore, the stone is in Thailand, and ME is in the US. I'm worried about incurring charges every which way, so do you have any advice?

The setting options in Singapore are limited and pretty old-fashioned (totally not my style), and the good ones are charging a very pretty penny. Thanks for any advice!

I think you are looking for a regular halo? If you have clear and detailed pictures of what you want, a CAD may be unnecessary.
