We got engaged a few months ago, and we've finally gotten our ring from the jeweler!! I absolutely love it!!

We had to wait a while for it, but it's definitely worth it!

Basic diamond specs: Ideal cut 1.30ct RB, actually SI2 (eye clean - they looked hard to finally find it!), and out of curiosity, I'd like you guys to tell me what you think the color is...

We got this one for such a great deal, which is the only reason we could get it at all - it's supposed to be part of their special group of premier diamonds, but the report had the color as a pretty low value, which none of their jewelers agreed with. We can get it reappraised later for the correct value, but we're not right now, because we love it regardless. But it's definitely NOT the color the report gives it - it's much higher.

So, here we go...
The camera I used is ok, but we got a new D90 for Christmas, so MUCH better pictures will be coming along later...

Sit tight, I''m working on them

In the box...

very pretty!

Sorry that was huge!

Side view... Each of the side diamonds is a little less than 1 point

Sorry about the quality, but it''s the only one I have of the profile...

Congratulations! What a pretty ring, the design is so unique.

As for the color--is the report an appraisal or a certification (EGL, GIA, etc.)?
It''s too hard to guess color from pictures so I''m not even going to try. What matters is that you love it, regardless of the color.

Very pretty! Looks great on you hand! What color is on the report? Hard to assess color in photos of well cut rbs. Looks fab whatever the color!

Left it big because reducing it more took away the beautiful shot of color in this picture!

Another shot of color...

Oh oh! I LOVE IT! That setting is really really cool! I love the swoopy band of diamonds - just lovely! Quite a fiery lady you have there as well!

Just bootiful. I love the swirlys n diamonds and your stone is gorgeous.

Is it a J?

Hehe last one, hope this wasn''t too many photos!

Mr. Snowman is surprised at how pretty the ring is too!

It''s pretty, congratulations on finding a ring you love. Colour is hard to guess on computer screens and photos so I''m not going to try.

Thanks guys!! I love the swirlies and the fire! FI found the design and showed it to me months ago, and we haven't wanted anything else since. It reflects both of us, and I LOVE how it's so wispy and fun.

Haven - the report is a GIA certification.

Yeah the color guessing isn't really important. Even the jeweler and the diamond company think it's a mistake. Anyway, we got it for a great deal due to that, and we may reappraise it later just for curiosity's sake, but we'll see.

Holy cow that setting is a stunner! Can you tell me where you found it?

The center stone looks beautiful, as well. Congratulations!

It actually is reported as J. Some of the pictures with the flash make it look sort of yellow, which is why I understand that pictures are a bad way to try to guess. But before they found this one, we were very close to choosing one that was an H in color (size was the same, and was SI). That H had no comparison to this one - this one was obviously higher in color, and we examined it in all different lights. The jeweler even agreed. I know some of these pictures darken it a bit, but I SWEAR in person this thing looks around a G.

Anyway, it''s not really important. We love it regardless. Even the jeweler told us to pick the one we loved BEFORE looking at the stats, and we picked this one!

So beautiful! What a great design.

NM I guessed wrong. Love the design though, it's beautiful.

Absolutely gorgeous! Worth the wait!

I love the swoopieness of your ring. Its lovely :) I could see that beautiful setting with a vibrant colored stone too....

Haha I actually had done a thread months ago on this setting with a sapphire in it!! Either a vibrant blue or a light violet. Someone on here helped photoshop stones in and everything! I thought it was very beautiful. We ended up with a diamond though because I wanted a little more strength, and FI wanted a diamond anyway. But believe me, I have my eye out for some, and I have a colored stone RHR in my future sometime...

Congrats on your ring. It is so unique and looks wonderful on the hand.

I am really color sensitive so I can see quite a bit of warmth in the diamond. I don't want to sound rude but you asked us to guess. I have a G and it looks a lot whiter but I know it is hard to really tell through photos.

It''s lovely! Congrats!!!

So pretty! The stone is stunning, no matter the color! Where did you find that setting? I love it!!

Very very nice!!! Congrats on getting your ring!

Amazing!!!
The design is so pretty! I bet looks incredible in person!
I love that diamond- personally, I like a little warmth as well, and if I could do it over again would probably get something a tad bigger in a lower color.
Yummy!

It sound like the color on the cert worked in your favor because you got a deal, that''s perfect!

There are so many gorgeous J RBs here on PS, I''m not surprised at all that you found a beautiful one, yourself.

Wear it in good health and great love.
