For a very special treat, some of my friends were invited to Tiffany's flagship Fifth Avenue store where we got to tour their bench jewelers - where they handmake custom jewels (each piece millions of dollars!) and try on all the jewels as we breakfasted in their vault! :cheeky: I knew I could not keep the goodies to myself and had to share with my fellow jewelry lovers!

I had no idea they had jewelers upstairs making custom jewelry. I wish I had taken more pictures but I was too busy drooling and trying on all of the incredible pieces! There was one piece that a woman had ordered with large diamond encrusted flowers and 12 carat colored stones that she handpicked from their selection - it was tremendous. Each flower was so lifelike and painstakingly created with no detail overlooked. Wow, what a lucky lady. I think they said the piece was around two million dollars. Swoon. I have to wonder where she would wear such a piece?

These pieces are in what they call the vault - special order items that are housed in a secret room upstairs. It was breathtaking! They even have a butler in a tuxedo taking tea orders and Tiffany specialists opening any case you want to try on the beautiful jewels as you lounge around eating delicious treats! Definitely an experience of a lifetime! I'm sorry I didn't snap more photos - it was so magical I kind of forgot myself and went into a trance!

I knew I should share with my fellow jewelry lovahs! :naughty:

Can you tell I was enamoured with this ring?

DH, I need a little over a million dollars for this ring. Hello? DH? *dial tone*

I wish I had taken better photos - but the arrows in this diamond were so crisp, so beautiful...so HUUUUGE!

Hahahaha, I wore it the entire time. Can you tell? I didn't want to try on anything else...except for a necklace you'll see coming up.

They have floor to ceiling mirrors that pull out with insanely cool lighting technology - so with the push of a button, you can view yourself wearing the diamonds in daylight, candlelight, halogen, cloudy days, any lighting scenario you wish. It's so cool. What must it be like to be one of those ladies who imagines such things as she buys such fabulous jewels? And the dangerous part is, they keep encouraging you to try on everything! My head was spinning. :cheeky: :cheeky: :cheeky:

Hahaha, these were some of their more "modest" offerings in a side case but I just thought I would take pic for Phoenix because of the design of the yellow diamond halo ring - it's so similar to her beautiful VC ring!!! Great taste!

Here is a shhhh secret pic of the vault! It goes into a back room, which I don't think you can tell because I've covered my friends to protect their identities! It is very James Bond to get in the room - it's in a secret corridor you get to from a private elevator and the door (literally a vault) is hidden in the wall with a secret key scanner! Very 007!

Oh wow oh wow oh wow. You found Heaven. Wow. Oh wow oh wow oh wow oh wow.

And after surviving Sandy, you definitely deserved a treat like this! Amazing!

Breakfast at Tiffany! A girl's dream come true. So delicious! They have a wide selection of delicious tea, too! Who knew??? SIGH!

My friend wore this stunner - a terrible photo but the main diamond was FLAWLESS..... THUNK!!!!! It looked surprisingly wearable, too! :cheeky:

I loved this necklace... I think they said this was 2 million. The diamonds in the front are over two carats each. Top top quality of the finest grade, too. THUNK THUNK THUNK. It sure felt nice on! I didn't want to take it off!

I think that's it! Hope you also enjoyed this fun journey behind the scenes of Tiffany! The butler told me some great stories. He said they have a special catalogue they send out near the holidays with these jewels that the public never gets to see. And that in almost all cases, the jewelry purchases are led by the women. And often entire families come in to view the jewelry before purchasing, since it's usually over a million dollars and they want to all agree on family heirlooms. They also have many international customers, as you can imagine. Wish I had an oil well somewhere!

Lifestyles...of the Rich and Famous! Ha! I can hear Robin Leach now. LOLOL

:appl: Now it's like we all went! :appl: Hope you enjoyed it as much as I did!

Have a great day!

OMG--I think I've died and gone to bling heaven!!! What a special treat for you! I'm surprised they let you photograph the secret room and all of the goodies inside!

BTW, what was the center diamond ct weight on the huge halo ring you're wearing for the majority of the pics? That rock must be blinding IRL! Wait til Phoenix sees this!

That is absolute bling heaven!!!   Those pieces look amazingly beautiful, and LARGE...gosh and the necklaces...swoon. Thanks for sharing the pics with us Bliss!

I agree, that huge klonk of a ring could perhaps be Phoenix's next upgrade :naughty: Any idea about the size of the center stone?

Ha, Rosebloom! It was HEAVEN! Wish I were an angel so I could go back....

Mom2boys, that stunner was around 10 carats, I think? They kept telling me and I kept forgetting. Mommy brain is a terrible thing. :naughty: I really wish I could have taken a pic in the bench jeweler's area. That place was like a clean room - more cameras in the sky than Vegas. They wouldn't let us take photos there. But I really wanted to because there was a deep stoplight red spinel ring that was about 20 carats in a custom platinum setting...and it looked sooooo good on my hand....It was incredible!!! I wish I could LIVE in that secret salon!

In the bench area, they just had diamonds LYING AROUND. Some so tiny for pave work that if you breathed right on them the wrong way, they might blow away. They also had a bunch of scientific gadgetry and machines that I could not identify. Very cool sci-fi looking place. I was so blown away by the Tiffany bench jewelers. They were hand filing each link to a bracelet with such care. I tried on a tennis bracelet with 2 carat each stones. THUNK THUNK THUNK.

Alexiszoe, I think the diamond ring was around 10 carats, perhaps more. I stopped listening after a while...hahahaha...it is D COLOR and VVS clarity. It was... superb. Sigh!!! It is SO wearable, right? Ha ha, nooooot! But fun to dream! :cheeky:

You know, I think I'm daft - looking at the pic, there is no way that is a ten carat diamond, right? It is probably much much larger. I wish I could remember! Maybe it's 15 carats? What do you think? I've tried on an eight carat RB at IDJ and this is like a dinner plate, much larger.

Thank you for sharing with us Bliss! Gorgeous jewels!

"um yeah, I'd love to go to the grocery store today, pick up the dry cleaning and fill up the car with gas, but i'm sort of busy today - ya - I'm having breakfast and tea at Tiffany's secret vault where I'll be wearing million dollar jewels and hob nobbing with Robin Leach ... would you mind if I rebook the no starch and 1/2 pound of salami, for another day??"

(Geesh - how come IDJ, LJN and DBL didn't have any bakery treats for my visits?? )

Question - did you wear all your gorgeous pieces when you went? Or did you leave them home for ease of trying on the goods? If you wore them I'm sure they held their own even amongst all the spectacular pieces!
